@pastrychef I used this one https://github.com/cylonbrain/VDADecoderCheck

After upgrade to 10.13.2 I get errors:
GVA info: Successfully connected to the Intel plugin, offline Gen95
AVDCreateGPUAccelerator: Error loading GPU renderer
VDADecoderCreate failed. err: -12473
An error was returned by the decoder layer. This may happen for example because of bitstream/data errors during a decode operation. This error may also be returned from VDADecoderCreate when hardware decoder resources are available on the system but currently in use by another process.
VDADecoderCreate failed. err: -12473

Yes, I'm getting the exact same output.

@xelanaiznac weird. Looks like you also upgraded to coffee lake. Congrats. How is it?

speaking about benchmark, it's a beast.
i have overclocked it to 5,00 ghz (I can go furthermore but I prefer to to be safe and stable)
6300 single core and 30.000 more or less multicore (Geekbench 4.2)

xelanaiznac, can you post your copy of VDADecoderChecker? Mine is showing errors but I'm not sure if it's my copy of the checker. Thanks in advance.

hi. look at my efi if you need

@xelanaiznac and you can confirm you have VDADecoderChecker pass using the above EFI on 10.13.2? Because @pastrychef and I do not and I'm trying to figure out what's different. My config looks the same as yours and nothing changed config-wise between 10.13.1 and 10.13.2 so it seems like a change in AppleGVA is breaking things. See https://github.com/vit9696/Shiki/issues/18

Holy smokes!

Using your EFI folder and a clean install of macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, VDADecoderChecker passed!!

Using your EFI folder and my existing macOS install, it failed.

have a look at pastrychef answer.
it seems that something was tricky in 10.13.2 update.
I upgraded from 10.13.1 to 10.13.2 using combo update, not the App Store update.
infact pastryhef, doing a clean 10.13.2 install, has a working vdachecker

I tried booting in to my old macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with xelanaiznac's EFI folder and I still encountered the error with VDADecoderChecker. There must be something that I've installed...

Hi, I noticed that you are using SSD-XCPM.aml for power management. When I booted up with your EFI folder, I noticed that X86PlatformPlugin was not loading. I think that you may be better off using an SSDT.aml generated by ssdtprgen. Using ssdtprgen will allow X86PlatformPlugin to load.

Also, you have several other SSDT files for renaming. They are also being renamed using Clover. This should not cause any problems but you only need one of the two solution.

hi pastry. obviously vdadecodercheck gives you error on 10.12.6 because shiki boot-flag are specific for high Sierra
