Hi,
The update didn’t go smoothly this time. Update installed and I arrived on the desktop (checked about this Mac:10.13.2). I then proceeded to instal sound but after the reboot I am stuck on the loading bar(reaching the end then stuck)
I used parted magic to change the apfs file though I don’t think I need to (system definition iMac 14.2), removed the sound kext and placed a clean config.plist.
After reboot I am still stuck at the loading bar (still reaching the end).
What else can try to get back to the desktop? I really don’t feel like installing everything again... please help
Thanks

  • Without Verbose boot mode and screen shots of where you are stuck, nobody can say for sure why it is happening and what is the next best step to get out of that boot freeze.
still stuck at the loading bar (still reaching the end)
  • Based solely on that part of your post, if I make a wild guess without any evidence from a verbose boot screen image, I would suspect a Graphics issue as the last road block to login screen
    • For the why and what of that guess would require the "CLOVER" from the Booting disk as a compressed file and the BIOS options pertaining to Graphics currently set to boot the disk.
