Instead of relying on NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext, try using one of the alternate "Black Screen Fixes" from: Black Screen with MacPro 6,1 or iMac 15 or iMac 17 System Definition | tonymacx86.com

I know that I had to remove NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext in High Sierra for IGPU acceleration to work.

Hi, pastrychef.
I have same issue. I'm on 10.13.1. After upgrading to new nvidiagraphicsfixup kext (and obviously lilu and intelgraphicsfixup), I don't have working quick sync. If I use the old kexts , quick sync is working.

I would like to know how did you solve this.

What's happens if I delete the nvidiagraphicsfixup? I mean, a part from fixing the black screen with one of the solution of the link you provided here. I think that nvidiagraphicsfixup fixes a lot of issues, or not?

I'm currently on macOS High Sierra and with the Kaby Lake CPU, I don't need NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext. I still use Lilu.kext and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext. This combination has Quick Sync enabled for me.

If you use iMac18,3 system definition, it does not suffer from the black screen issue, so the NvidiaGraophicsFixup.kext is not needed.

you plug a second screen on the integrated graphics card?

No. I only have one monitor and it is plugged in to my GTX 1080.

do you use shiki kext?
is multi monitor working with your config?

No, I'm not using Shiki.kext. I don't know if multi monitor works. I only have one monitor.

hi pastry.
just to inform you that we can continue to use nvidiagraphicsfixup with working quick sync just adding this boot-args: ngfxpatch=pikera -ngfxnovarenderer

I found this information here https://sourceforge.net/p/nvidiagraphicsfixup/tickets/3/ and just tried by myself.

ps nvidiagraphicsfixup kext has a lot of great features, including the possibility of using more than one monitor ;-)

Thanks! I'll test it out a bit during the week.
