GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

The problem with having to do that is that it requires it to be done every 2 minutes or less, when my system has been running for more than about 20 minutes, but it's probably the same for you, so you know .

Here's what my High Sierra desktop looks like, with a GTX 660.

Yea, your desktop is exactly the same as mime before I replaced GTX660 with RX580, sigh...

iMac 27" Late 2012 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB (it is not a hackintosh or modified in any way)

At least, as "diablonet" already mentioned, we know that this is not a problem limited to Hackintoshs:

Originals suffer from the same problem, so there is a high chance that a future update from Apple will fix the problem.

I found a more acceptable workaround to "reset" the glitches:
Go into System Preferences > Mission Control, and set one of the Hot Corners to ‘Put Display to Sleep’
Every time the glitches start to appear one can ‘Put Display to Sleep’ and re wake it again.

Hey guys.
I have been suffering from the same issue and I had been changing the settings around daily just to see if any thing helps. I just want to dump my findings here.

So if iGPU is disabled, the glitches almost starts immediately when the system is booted (Like triggering previews or opening the Photos app.)

With iGPU enabled, it kind of delayed the glitch for some random amount of time. Web browsing doesn't trigger the glitch, but opening Photos does.

With the determination of bricking the card, I tried flashing some random GTX660 vBIOS to my card and see if anything sticks. Naturally it didn't work, and yes I bricked my card. Then I realise how easy it is to bring it back so I flashed it again it came back to life.

When I was cleaning my Clover folder I realise something called CSMVideoDxe.efi, as the word video suggested it is kind of a video driver for system doesn't support UEFI GOP in Clover, whatever that means. So I turned off CSM in BIOS. Boom! It doesn't boot, BIOS asking me to turn back off as the GTX660 doesn't support UEFI GOP. With some random googling I realise you can actually flash the UEFI GOP module to the card to add this feature, so with that determination again, I flashed the card.

I got video output. Go to BIOS and turn off CSM. BIOS doesn't complain this time. Boot to High Sierra, delete the CSMVideoDxe.efi from the EFI. For some reason I REALLY don't get, I got noticeably fewer glitches. The photo app doesn't crap itself like befor

When I say few, glitches still happens, like doing file previews sometimes. iMovie is almost 100% chance of triggering glitches. But I don't use iMovie every day so I'm happy for the moment, at least illustrator is more usable I don't have to iCloud Drive the goddamn file to my 2012 Non-Retina MacBook Pro just to see the goddamn file.

I'm not responsible for any GTX660 bricks, but this is a old card now so what the heck.

I'm resigned after 2 weeks with Glitched GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2 GB in High Sierra. There is no solution today. I just buy the cheapest pascal card from tonymac recomendation: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and i'm on High Sierra today without problem. One thing i want to share with everybody is how to solve one problem i has in installation High Sierra with this new GTX 1050 pascal card. Every installation process was like a charm, Unibeast 8 create USB, clear installation process, Multibeast 10, restart. But it was not possible to switch to Nvidia Web Drivers. After install Web driverss and restart, system everytime switch back to default apple nvidia driver, and other thing was in "about this mac" info window my GTX 1050 TI was showed only 7 MB RAM, so there was low resolution (1280x768) on my apple cinema display 2560x1440 and no acceeleration of course ... Problem was in my Gigabyte 100 series motherboard which hasn't native NVRAM support and you must setup emulated NVRAM to store the nvda_drv=1 boot flag in boot-args
This sollved my problem in part : Problem 6 - just do it exactly step by step and you can switch to NVIDIA Web Driver then. Hope this help to someone.

So the GTX650 Ti Boost also has problems in High Sierra. Probably the entire 6xx Kepler series graphics cards have graphics problems in High Sierra, then.

I'm running 10.13.1 with a GTX 660 and I've been having the same issues like mostly everyone in this thread. Curiously, I put it to sleep for some time (which I don't normally do) and on reboot I haven't noticed any glitching or graphics problems as of yet.

Edit: I guess I spoke too soon, I started running some other applications and the glitches came back. Oh well. Putting it to sleep could be a temporary solution I guess.
