Hi guys, I'm trying to install macOS Sierra on i7 8700K running on AUS PRIME Z370-A motherboard and I'm stuck at booting from USB stick.

I have set BIOS according to https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...s-maximus-viii-gene-i7-7700k-gtx-1080.198470/

I'm booting without external graphics card and with 2x8GB RAM installed (G.Skill Trident Z) - XMP profile enabled.

I've tried to boot with CPUID set to 0x0906E9 (i7 7700K ID).

This is what I get:

Did you turn off your Serial ports in your Bios setup?

Did you have any luck with this? Trying to get the same build working...

@slynn1324, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard or Make/Model, CPU and Graphics Card.
The Rules said:
Profiles need to contain at least your primary system to assist others with helping you.

@osxjunkie, how did you manage to solve your problem?
I'm having trouble on the first boot to install high sierra on a similar build (same motherboard, different CPU).

My boot freezes even before yours did, as on the image attached bellow.
I am using only the intel graphics and disabled the GPU. All the recommended BIOS tweeps have been made, but still no successful first boot.

Any thoughts?

No idea what's the issue with your boot, but let me tell you how I did it:

1. I used USB stick created according to https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.235474/
2. I've added few kexts (EFI attached) - it booted without an issue
3. Did normal install
4. After that I upgraded to 10.13.1 and installed latest nVidia drivers
5. I had issues with sound but installation of FakePCIID.ext and FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext helped.

Overall everything what I need works, but not everything is yet tested.

I have exactly the same problem as you.

What I tried:
  • Tried different BIOS settings
  • Different EFIs from working setups found on the forum, with no luck
  • Tried with Unibeast 8.1 and 8.0
  • Tried both on the Intel Graphics and on the GTX, with the same result. Also tried without the GTX card plugged.
  • Tried without any drive (m.2 and SATAs)
  • Tried with the stock BIOS and the latest for the mobo
  • Tried with both stock and OC'ed CPU
  • Tried with both stock and MXP profile for the RAM
My setup:
MOBO: Asus Prime Z370-A
CPU: Intel Core i7 8700k
RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming 8G
Drives: Samsung Evo 960 NVME m.2 (Windows) and Samsung Evo 850 SATA (to be MacOS) + 2x 2TB SATA drives

Let me know if you find a solution !
