Thanks for rehabman's guide, with which I’ve installed 10.13 on my HP Elitebook 840G3. But there still some issues:

1.When wakeup from sleep, screen is black, but backlight control is working (can see that when using backlight up/down control key), and system is up (can shutdown/reboot in blind mode - move mouse to upper left, and use up/down arrow key to select, etc),

2.Mic on combo jack doesn’t work. seems this’s a common issue unresolved, right ?

3.For volume change, one method (menu car/Fn key) always cause another method (Fn Key/menubar) set to max volume.

Try 10.12.6 just to verify the problem is 10.13 specific.
You might also try other ig-platform-id values. Such as 0x191b0000.
You can change it by changing the IGPI value in your model specific SSDT.

Try alternate layout-id as per guide.

Thanks Rehabman

Tried 191b0000 for IGPI in SSDT-8x0-G3-Skylake.aml, no luck.
Tried to install 10.12.6, it wakes up well without black screen issue.

Will the report for 10.12.6 be helpful if I post it here?

As always, post "Problem Reporting" files for each scenario.

Here's the 10.12.6 report!

BTW, You may notice there's BCM94352 combo card info in this report, while not in the 10.13's , the card was installed just several hours ago. also, have tested it with 10.13, same as before. Guess it won't be the point ?

thanks!

There is a slight difference in config.plist between the two setups.
One has ScreenResolution=1920x1080 and the other has 1280x720.

Yes, and tried to change to 1920x1080, but still black screen.

Sounds like a new problem in 10.13 then.
Thanks!

And in both 10.12.6 and 10.3, can't see "put computer to sleep" time bar in "energy saver" setting, is that normal?

Normal. A real Mac with the same SMBIOS would do the same.
