@fojerhar

1/ concerning the HT enable / disable

9 months I work on it and never found a solution
some time (I guess 3 times in the 9 months) without any reasons (no change or else) I had the Nvidia web driver manager opening when the HT was active but didn't know why (after a normal reboot no more activation)
also the folder iCloud, with HT nothing inside (no download from the servers, and if I put something nothing goes to the servers, but all the services as: photos, iMessage etc perfectly ok)
if HT disable: everything goes perfectly well, the folder iCloud charge everything from the servers and I can put documents inside and they are on iCloud . com

i dont know where it comes from but from the SMBIOS pretty sure yes
also some have success with dual graphic card / broadwell
with Mac Pro 5,1 and not 6,1

2/ concerning your 2,9 GHz sync 24/24
not a good idea
okrasit made a kext for that and it was fully functional (I think the name was msr99 ro something like that)
but none of the program use all the cores all the time
meaning you will have much better perfs with XCPM
for info, my 2696 v4:
with 44 threads at 2,8GHz, on GB: 3990 / 42000
with XCPM on GB: 44000 / 46000
(same version of GB and only adding the kext and modifying bios to sync cores for turbo sync)
with XCPM when I launch the GB test I can see going to 3,7GHz on some part of the test...

Hello
I tri to follow this guide, but the kernelToPatch "xcpm_bootstrap Sierra" make KernelPanic during the boot
In fact I tried two different kernelToPatch "xcpm_bootstrap Sierra" (they are disable in my config.plist).
Code:
8d43c483 f822 8d43c383 f822 xcpm_bootstrap Sierra © Pike R. Alpha 10.12
83c3c483 fb22 3c3bc83 fb22
I generate the ssdt with Rehabman script and placed it in the appropriate folder.
In ioRegistryExplorer under CP00@0 I have :
Code:
Property: Type: Value:
plugin-type Number 0x1
With the terminal command,
Code:
kextstat|grep -y x86plat
i can see the "X86PlatformPlugin.kext" is now loaded

X99 Designare EX + i7 6850K (BroadWell E)
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Btw, I don't know it is a good thread to ask, but is there any option to patch supermicro bios to enable to run 2.9Ghz for all cores at turbo? for example @metacollin do you have experiences with it ?
hello fojerhar
i Have same mobo but my cpu E5 2650v3 plz give me EFI folder of you. plzzz thanks so much.

I hope if you can update your guide to 10.13. or sharing your EFI folder. I am really struggling with our cpus power management @metacollin

hey guys,
i have a problem, i have supermicro x10dax with 2x 2696 v3 xeon and nvidia 1080ti all work but my GB 4.1.3 get every time , with and without patch, 27000 max 28000.
Is a problem a e5 2696 v3 Haswell? is better Broadwell?
Is very strange. Anyone with experience in this case?
i am in 10.12.6 sierra.

Can I get a Hackintosh guide for HP Z840 workstation

Dual LGA2011 i am using single xeon E5 6 core Haswell CPU
Intel® C612 Chipset
16GB DDR4 ECC RAM
Realtek ALC221
nvidia Quadro K4200 (May work or not i dont know Geforce card available)

Crap, I am so sorry guys.

So, I, uh, completely forgot that I had patched the BIOS image from Supermicro for my motherboard and flashed my own modified BIOS to my X10DAi mobo. It was largely cosmetic (replaced the Supermicro logo with the Apple boot image, restored some stuff that had been removed from the EFI shell, etc.)....but more importantly, I patched the bios so that it leaves MSR 0xE2 unlocked. Motherboards often lock this register, and that prevents macOS from booting. So my guide works as long as your motherboard has MSR 0xE2 unlocked. If it is locked, you must make sure to check the 'KernelPm' box in the Kernel and Kexts section of Clover Configurator.

It just totally slipped my mind. There wasn't exactly some visual indication to remind me about the unlocked MSR registor. I just forgot. Whoops :(. I am very sorry to anyone who finds that this omission caused them headache and wasted their time. It was an honest oversight.

Sorry!

No hard feelings! I have the same motherboard would love if you could share your bios & configuration just remove your serials from the config file or screentshots of clover config.

Thanks!

Great Guide!! I am just wondering how a system like this runs? I am a professional FCPX video editor and am in need of an extreme pc for 6k to 8k Raw video footage. I just want to know before spending 10 000$ or more.

My build- Dual Xeon E5-2690V4
Asus Z10PE-D16-WS
Dual VEGA 64 Frontier addition GPU's
128GB DDR4 ECC RAM
Corsair 1500i
1TB Samsung 960 Pro M.2 SSD
6 Seagate 12TB Ironwolf Drives
4 Crucial 1TB SATA SSD'

I am mainly in need of extreme reliability and No-compromised performance.

So if you can just tell me how well does it run and if my system has a chance to work with Mac OS X High Sierra, that would be excellent! Thanks again, love your stuff : )

hello if you build this PC, I would like to know how Final Cut Pro X get benefits to that all max out components !!
Seriously curious.

I already build for a client same Mobo with 64GB RAM + 2 E5-2630 v4 + 2 GTX 1080Ti
Mainly for Davinci Resolve 14. It's stable and perform as fast as it can (CPU/GPU not that well balanced)
