Ok this is for everybody else with similar motherboards.
as of now, the whole configuration works with just 3 extensions.
I assume since the driver is installed correctly, HDMI audio via the graphics card should work with out any kexts or patches.
- install latest Lilu.kext into /Library/Extensions using KextBeast.
- install latest NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext into /Library/Extensions using KextBeast.
- These two kexts fix the black screen at boot for iMac17,1 SMBIOS. (not the boot loop issue)
- Put EmuVariableUefi.efi into /EFI/CLOVER/Drivers64UEFI
- This is the extensions that actually fixes the boot loop issue, the main issue is caused not because of some NVRAM support but because the WebDriver is apparently not being properly selected at boot, it defaults to OS X Default Graphics Driver instead of Nvidia Web Driver.
and for me it defiantly does. (Oddly enough I don't remember having this in 10.12.6)
In terms of tags, this is what I have:
Honestly I'm not sure if thats what made everything work, at least for me it did.
- nvda_drv=1 is disabled
- NvidiaWeb = False
- Inject Kexts = Detect (not sure if thats even important, you can leave it as yes)
Dude, I owe you a beer...it worked
I’ve been at this for days and you seemed to have found the right combo for my motherboard...thanks for posting your info
