[README] Common (some unsolved) Problems in 10.12 Sierra

I've updated to 10.12.6 from App Store but can't boot anymore with clover 4097. :(

Off-topic.

Hi RehabMan,I'm in 10.12.3, with all correct, I have been looking at the possible faults that exist when upgrading to .4 and .5. Are these shortcomings already resolved in his repo of Envy? I say because Andrw0380 posted that were solved thanks to their contributions and their help.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry, newbe here.
I used unibeast to install 10.12.5 on a toshiba tecra.
I encountered a couple of problems:
- the trackpad, buttons, keyboard do not work at all.
- I cannot boot to macos unless I use the unibeast on the
usb install stick I created.
Any pointer would be greatly appreciated!!
Mark

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.

The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"

Hi RehabMan,
I successfully finished my Dell E7450 and I am becoming crazy with a Dell E5570 with i5-6440HQ non Nvidia.
I explain the problem:

I created a bootable USB key with Unibeast, modified the 0x432 variable, installed last Clover with everything got from a E7450 install (Kext and ACPI).
It boots and is ready to install Sierra 10.12.3 but, before starting the install when I am in the menu with all languages moving, if I disconnect power from the laptop, it freeze and the crazy thing is that, if I start the install with power disconnected and I connect it, it freeze the similar way in the same menu.

This laptop is running well under Windows 10 without any problem if do the same.

So .... I am stuck..

Many thanks for help if you or somebody has an idea.

Many thanks from France

This is it!
My u430 with 10.12.4 suffered from this problem (short duration lag after wake and after login).

My u430 has LVDS and a single HDMI.
I use ig-platform-id 0xa260006 with it. 0xa260006 has LVDS, 0105 DP, 0204 DP.
The HDMI is wired to 0204, so I patch that port for HDMI (to enable HDMI audio).
I also use the 'vbo' 9mb cursor bytes patch (even though it is not needed on my particular laptop... it is helpful on others).

So... before 10.12.4, I had these patches for com.apple.driver.AppleIntelFramebufferAzul:

Comment: 0x0a260006 9MB cursor bytes, vbo
Find: <0600260a 01030303 00000002 00003001 00006000>
Replace: <0600260a 01030303 00000002 00003001 00009000>

Comment: HDMI-audio, port 0204, 0x0a260005 0x0a260006
Find: <02040900 00040000 87000000>
Replace: <02040900 00080000 87000000>

Now the 0105 port comes before the 0204 port in the framebuffer, but we don't need the 0105 port as it is not connected to anything (and causing the lags).

So... strategy is to replace 0105 with 0204 and reduce the number of ports from 3 to 2.

We already know that in AppleIntelFramebufferCapri that 0x01660004 has only a single LVDS connector, so we can look to the header of that ig-platform-id data to discover what we need to reduce our ig-platform data in Azul from 3 ports to 2.

From AppleIntelFramebufferCapri 0x01660004:
04006601 01030101

And from AppleIntelFramebufferAzul 0x0a260006:
0600260A 01030303

So, there appears to be two counts at the end related to the number of connectors... plan to change them both...

New set of patches:

Comment: 0x0a260006 9MB cursor bytes (vbo), 2 ports only (RehabMan)
Find: <0600260a 01030303 00000002 00003001 00006000>
Replace: <0600260a 01030202 00000002 00003001 00009000>

Comment: 0x0a260006 disable 0204 port, change 0105 DP port to 0204 HDMI (RehabMan)
Find: <01050900 00040000 87000000 02040900 00040000 87000000>
Replace: <02040900 00080000 87000000 FF000000 01000000 40000000>

Result: No more lag after login and wake from sleep.
I've also a bit of lag after login and wake from sleep so I just apply these patches?
I've broadwell laptop

The patches you need depend on the ig-platform-id you're using and which port in the framebuffer is used by external ports.

I really don't know how to do that
