macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update

Oh god, this update went terribly wrong, I updated directly from the app store, and that's it, it won't boot anymore.
it gets to the step after clover and then reboots every single time.
I'm booted from the external backup drive with 10.12 now.

Can anybody please tell me what do I do now?
I cant clone the backup drive because carbon copy cloner says I need to reformat the SSD back into HFS.
and I'm not so sure what exactly do I need to format it seems kinda messy here.

Why do i have AppleAPFSMedia directory and also the physical SSD directory? this doesn't make any sense.

Boot up from your external backup drive then open Disk Utility. Find your SSD drive and erase it and then partition it with
Mac OS Extended Journal. To restore from Time Machine backup go into CCC and create a Recovery Partition on the SSD. Then boot up to the SSD Recovery Partition and install from your backup.

Also you should try to boot with recovery disk. That worked for me. Once repaired start up with previous clover plist settings.

Thanks for your reply.
Does re-running the audio_cloverALC-130_v0.3 command after installing the Nvidia drivers rebuild the kernel cache?
It can do
Code:
# fix permissions and rebuild cache

"High Sierra"|"Sierra"|"El Capitan"|"Yosemite" )
echo "Fix permissions ..."
sudo chown -R root:wheel $gExtensionsDirectory/AppleHDA.kext
echo "Kernel cache..."
sudo touch $gExtensionsDirectory
sudo kextcache -Boot -U /

Guys,Guys,Guys this Supplemental Update has been doing my head in. Finally got to install 17A405 successfully.
When trying to install error message:- macOs couldn't be installed on your computer. The path /System/Installation/Packages/OsInstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damaged.
The issue is SIP status. Mine was disabled. Check via Terminal csrutil status. Check message#164 how to disable SIP via Clover Boot Manager.
I Unchecked "Allow untested kexts" and Checked "Allow Apple Internal".
I first uninstalled nvidia drivers then download Supplemental update via Apple store and installed it. Once the installation comes up to the Clover boot Manager Uncheck "Allow untested kexts" and Check "Allow Apple Internal". and Pick MacOs Install.
Hope this helps others.
Going through the same steps now and getting the same error. My sip is 0x67 and unchecking Allow untrusted kexts and checking Allow Apple internal doesn’t help.
Could you tell in details what you did?

Ok here is the deal:

I successfully cloned my backup drive into my SSD and now I'm booted back from the SSD running 10.12.6.

UPDATE:

umm.... guys.
I think my computer is retarded.
After I did the backup and booted up to the SSD... I noticed there is no sound... so I decided to investigate so I mounted the EFI folder............. and there was no CLOVER!?!?!?!?!

No nothing... no config.plist no kexts wtf?
how the hell did it boot up in the first place???

somebody, please tell me what is going on in completely lost here.

Upgrade ran relatively smooth. It fails to load after reboot due Nvidia drivers. I had to boot into recovery, run shell and remove NVDA*.kext and GeForce*.kext in /L/E. After that it booted ok. Everything seems to be ok, including audio.

Can you give me steps how to do this? I screwed up and didn’t uninstall my nvidia before I updated now I’m in a reboot loop.

Ok, finally I was able to install the Supplemental Update.
0. Installed Clover r4233
1. Uninstalled the Nvidia Web Driver.
2. New Apfs.efi on Clover folder.
3. Deleted the Emuvariable.efi in Clover and concludes that my system works fine without this drive.
4. Ran the update through AppStore.

EDIT: Everything ok now! Thanks Nvidia for the new Web Driver :headbang:

I used this method and everything works perfectly, and I didn't need to reapply the audio patch. Thanks to Fergath!!

It seems this update broke my USB audio. Out of sheer laziness I've never bothered to install the appropriate drivers for my motherboard and have used a ZiiSound T6 USB audio device. Worked out of the box with every OSX version. Until this update. The device is seen, displayed in System Settings, selectable etc etc.... just no audio going to it. I don't mind changing the audio setup, but does anybody have USB audio working with (latest) High Sierra?

Got mine fully working. Nvidia Graphics, ALC 1150, Intel Ethernet, iMessage, Dual Boot. Will post an update to my Sierra guide soon.

@Stork saved my life on the Nvidia Web Driver installation process. Very odd procedure, but hey, whatever works!

Looking forward to a new MutliBeast tool. I haven't done a manual install since the SL days, it was tricky!
