I just moved, so digging everything out of storage, including my tools...

First, a reference from old GeekBench2 on an original Cube:
Geekbench G4 Cube.png
There is no real comparison between versions of GeekBench either. This result was GB2, some of these are GB3 (inflated), and the final one is GB4 (realistic).

I built my first Cube case mod back in 2012. Jetway motherboard and salvaged parts from all kinds of macs... sold it on eBay recently for dirt cheap so that I could focus on the other 5 cube cases I have laying around. Here are my parts lists so far, and various states of completion:

still working out OSX install kinks. This mobo went out on loan to one of my sons, but I have the watercooling components for it as well.

Hack Cube5 (Asrock X99E-ITX/AC) aka "The Monster"
2.3Ghz Xeon E5-2696 v3 (18c/36t)
64Gb DDR3
R9 Nano 4Gb
The intent is water cooling, I have the blocks for CPU/GPU and radiator.
Have not had time to get OSX on this yet, but I know it is feasible.

Hack Cube6 (To be determined...)

With my Hack Cube builds, I like to keep everything internal, including the power brick. It can be done, but it gets tight. And I know the 36 thread machine will likely get hot, so I may have to go external radiator.

--- I don't like the CPU/motherboard video, and I have tried several of those ribbon cable adapters and they have all failed. The ones I like to use have the USB3 cable connecting them. You can then put the video card anywhere you want.

They tend to have the connectors go past the PCIE connector, so I have to change those as well.

I will post more pics as I go along....
Happy Modding!
