Hi, I have an external eSATA HDD and now I have to reboot after I turn it on to be able to use it on 10.13. It works just fine on 10.12.6 with same clover/UEFI/system configuration. Can someone tell me what should I do to be able to use it again? Thanks and sorry for my english!

UPDATE:
I suggest that you use this approach instead of the one I originally posted here.

Apple has decided to turn off hot plug support for all SATA devices (including eSATA). This happened somewhere in the betas. Here's a version I'm using on my own system that has resolved the problem for me. I haven't noticed any downsides yet.

Did it and it works. Thank you!

Yep, thanks for the hint, worked for me too!

Not sure whether the on-the-fly patching is as "broad" as the kext. I have an older Intel 6 Series Chipset, so not sure whether this patch would work for me as well (as it mentions ICH10 specifically and a few others...)

Tried the Sunki solution. My external drive is not switching on.

When I run in terminal - kextstat | grep AHCIPort

63 0 0xffffff7f81050000 0x14000 0x14000 com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort (999.1.1) 440D7F9B-DE37-375D-AFE0-EABC372B001E <62 12 5 4 3 1>

Any ideas how to fix it? Disabled SIP and still not working.

Just to ask- did you enable hotplug for the relevant SATA port in the BIOS?

All sata ports are hot plug enablbed by default
