Help PLEASE !!!
I have almost the same problem. But, I can`t find anything named "MATS" in the table dropping options !!!!
Could you explain to me what you did ???

Same Problem. Started update from full workin' Sierra. After restart system hangs at apple logo.
I tryed
-drop MATS,
- prevent NVidia Web Driver from loading,
-copied 10.12 files to 10.13 at clover

System got a m2 ssd, maybe that’s my problem?

Thanks for this thread! I had to drop MATS in order to get the upgrade to install and now in order to boot.

I have to admit that I am clover "challenged" I have been trying to figure out how to make clover drop MATS routinely. I am using Clover Configurator 2 with clover 4220.

Don't know why you can't see de drop Mats. My clover boot menu have that option (maybe only show if in the past you already did the entry in config).
You have other options too.
- If you have a bootable backup, or another mac/hack working you can connect your hd, mount EFI and edit the config.


- Or you can use shell command on boot to edit it, i never used it, but i found this info on google

It is useful trick that not many people know for removing or adding values permanently as not everything is shown in the bootloader's dynamic editor. In clover bootloader menu launch UEFI shell (first icon below your drives), type map fs* this will show partitions available for mapping. Since my macOS drive is disk0 I get to map it by

map fs0

enter the mapped partition

fs0: [hit enter]

cd EFI/CLOVER

edit config.plist

make your edits and hit F3, then "y" to save, "n" to quit without saving.

No need to drop MATS table.

Correct fix is:
config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/FixHeaders=true
