Need help disabling nVidia on Haswell/Intel 4600HD

The intention of this idea is to use native ACPI.
Remove all files from ACPI/patched except SSDT-PEG0-PEGP-Spoof.aml.
Then set config.plist/ACPI/SSDT/DropOem=false.

Your current setup cannot be expected to do what is intended as there is a duplicate _DSM method.
You forgot to apply "Remove _DSM methods" to your patched files, and the _DSM->XDSM patch does not apply to ACPI/patched/SSDT*.aml.

BTW, I just tried this idea on my [WIP] desktop (Asus Z270, Nvidia + Intel HD630, i7-7700k), which has the same/similar problem.

It works.

Hi there RehabMan!

yes, it works! I tried it this morning and I was able to install High Sierra GM! I just had to disable IntelGFX injection in Clover to get the installer to look OK, otherwise I was getting a garbled screen. Awesome, thank you very, very much. You're the man!

BTW, I just have a problem though. When the installed MacOS High Sierra boots I get a garbled screen in the laptop, external HDMI display works fine so I have to either lower the resolution or close the computer lid and open it again for the screen in the laptop to show fine... any ideas?

Attached is my final (working) configuration.

Thank you!

Enable legacy boot/CSM.

Note: Your Clover/kexts is a mess. See guide for correct content:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, ACPI/origin is way too old to compare against ACPI/patched, likely out-of-sync.

I don't know why you have SSDT-XOSI.aml in ACPI/patched. It is ineffective without the _OSI->XOSI patch in config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches.

Hi RehabMan,

Thanks, my bad...I had removed the _OSI->XOSI patch accidentally. I´ve added it again to config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches.

Enabling CMS in the computer BIOS did not fix the issue either.

Regarding the ´garbled´screen as shown in post # 14 I think it has to do with the bot graphics glitch... In my current Sierra 10.12.6 config this does not happen. In my 10.12.6 installation, I noticed that the screen turns black before it shows the Apple logo again right before entering into the macOS desktop, this does not happen with High Sierra, when the Apple logo glitch shows up, the desktop opens right after without getting the black screen before... perhaps the IntelGraphicsFixup is not working on HS? Just a thought...

Thank you.

You must have the build of IntelGraphicsFixup.kext (and Lilu.kext) that are enabled/fixed for High Sierra.
I build them from source...

Hmmm I have IntelGraphicsFixup.kext version 1.1.6 and Lilu is version 1.1.7... both have High Sierra support... right?

Thanks

I don't know how the versions relate to current support.
I build current code from sources....
Something you should investigate.

If I may add my part to this conversation.

I have been having the same problems as Dragster27, I'm using a Dell Inspiron 7537 Intel HD4400 (with Optimus GPU disabled through SSDT). My display is also "garbled" when I try to boot macOS 10.13 + with Intel injected. Strangely enough, this does not occur when I close the lid and connect through an external monitor using HDMI. Here is where it gets weird.

I'm using a 34inch (2560 x 1080) external monitor, and on Sierra that was the default resolution when booted with the external monitor. However, on 10.13 + the external display uses my native screen's resolution: 1920 x 1080 (16:9). And I cannot change the format to match the 21:9 profile.

I have experienced this earlier in the beta builds of macOS 10.13. I'm using the FakePCIID kexts with patched DSDT and SSDT. So, Dragster27 I'm with you on this one.
