Ok so this isn't my first rodeo with building a PC.. However, this is my first hackintosh build... I've got what I think is a pretty decent parts list put together for my budget which I'd really like to keep under $1k. One thing I am struggling to decide on is the GPU. I've read multiple place that the performance with nvidia cards is great.. but AMD cards are supported better and require no drivers (plug and play if you will). And my main purpose for building a hackintosh is video editing. I could care less about render time. What I am really looking for is smooth playback in Final cut pro. I work with mostly 1080p at 120fps footage and 4k at 30fps footage.

So what I have picked out for the moment is an MSI RX 550 AERO ITX 2G OC. Has a sweet price of $90 but will it perform where I need it to? I would also be willing to go with the slightly more expensive RX 560 (4G OC). Please let me know if you guys think either of these would work ok or if you think there's a better option for what I'm looking for.

All the other parts I have picked out:

-Thermaltake Core V1 Black Edition SPCC Mini ITX Cube
-GIGABYTE GA-Z270N-WIFI LGA1151 Intel Mini-ITX DDR4 Motherboard
-Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz Unlocked Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor
-Corsair Hydro Series High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H60
-Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4
-Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD
-EVGA 500 BQ, 80+ BRONZE 500W PSU

(Please feel free to comment on the rest of the build as well)

I would go with the RX460 and an I7-7700K. If you wait about nine days the I7-8700K will be released at a price of $350 so you should be able to get the 7700K at a lower price then. No reason to go with the older 6700K it's not much less expensive.

Good call on the 7700K. Is there some sort of an advantage of the 460 over the 560? The 560 actually appears to be a few bucks cheaper at the moment.

No, I meant to say 560 sorry.
