I have dual boot system with elcapitan as a daily driver and Sierra for test and setup. I nearly finished setting up Sierra install. I did not have Applebacklight implemented, having acpibacklight instead. The last thing I changed 0105 port for 0204. I let my laptop to sleep and could not wake it up with black screen. Still had output to hdmi. I forced shut down laptop and now it boots to black screen on both my system straight away. Is there any nvram setting left? How comes having a sleep issue on Sierra affected my ElCapitan install. How can I reset?

P.S. Managed to boot to ElCapitan with my old Clover 4049(instead of 4097 with Acpibacklight) with Intelbacklight. I don't have booting issue now, but sleep issue now. If I wake laptop up after sleep it just shuts down.

ACPI is not patched correctly.
See guide:

Well. I agree ACPI not patched 100% correctly, but did not have problems with sleep/wake until I tried second Sierra install.
P.S. Forget to mention. Now I experience apple logo glitch too. And it seems applied Boot graphics glitch, 10.10.x/10.11.x (credit lisai9093, cecekpawon) not working for me anymore.
P.S.S. Will be digging into it.

Different boot glitch patch for 10.12 vs. 10.10/10.11.
