Hi,

OS: 10.13 Beta (17A360a)
SMBIOS: iMac17,1
Board: Asus Maximus VII Impact
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2 GB

I've upgraded 10.12.6 to latest High Sierra beta on my desktop hack.
Everything works fine except one thing.
While booting it hangs for a while on

Code:
HID: Legacy shim2

so booting time is very long.
System works great and all devices are recognisable(wifi+bt+audio+cpu+gpu+ssd etc)

Tried to find something on other threads without success(most of them are about installation problems).
How can i fix it ?

Thank you!

iMac14,2 is appropriate choice for motherboard/processor.

on iMac14,2 same problem.
Before upgrade to 10.13 i had iMac14,2 but i thought that iMac17,1 is closer to that CPU...
anyway it didn't change anything still had slow boot because of HID: Legacy shim2

I found via MacTracker app that iMac15,1 had i7-4790K so i changed SMBIOS to it.
Still have a problem with HID: Legacy shim2...

ok, i don;t know why and how ;) but after fresh installation of latest beta there is no problem with booting.
Boot time takes around ~10 sec from apple logo to login screen.

but after migrate account from backup same issue ;(

Thx

hi @gulios any news?
same issue. fresh install of official 10.13

Having the same problem but no solution for me also, it sucks.

Most likely caused by TRIM & APFS. Have you migrated to APFS? Better to use HFS+ on a hack.

yes, i've migrated to APFS
Why it's better to use HFS+ on hack?
Can you give some URL with details about it?

Thx
