@JoePham, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard or Make/Model, CPU and Graphics Card.

One of the good things is the wifi card I used wasn't even the one that was recommended and it worked right after the fresh install of the lastest osx (this was even before using the multibeast). I tried all the functions that Id ever need and all were ok (iMessage didn't work, gave me an activation error or something like that).

Which exact card did you use and what did it cost or where did you get it? Always good to have more options :).

Hi again, everyone!

I successfully got my DeskMini up and running with Sierra 10.12.6. It runs like a dream - very fast! I have two issues though that I'm hoping to get some help with. I followed Colonel Panic's guide to get it up and running.

Issue #1:

My USB 3.0 ports are running at 2.0 speed. This is confirmed in System Information, by file transfer speeds and some of my external drives flash the light at different speeds based on a 2.0 vs. 3.0 connection.

Issue #2:

Although this is less important since this machine is mostly in a server role, I have no sound. The icon on the menu bar is greyed out and in the Sound preference pane I only have AirPlay as an option.

I've attached screenshots of my relevant folders. If I'm missing something to help diagnose, please let me know and I'll post it right away.

Hey everyone, first time Hackintosh builder here. Following Colonel Panic's guide and have installed Sierra on my deskmini system. I used Unibeast and Sierra from the Mac store to create the installer. I had set this up and got as far as getting the wi-fi working and then when I tried to apply the audio fixes I got a kernel panic and then ended up erasing the drive and re-installing several times.

Where I'm getting stuck is that I'm mounting the efi partitions with Clover configurator and getting the config.plist from usb/efi/efi/clover/ config.plist and attempting to move this to the same location on system drive/efi/efi/clover but this location does not exist. When I mount the efi partition I have efi/efi/Apple folder only. Do I have to install Clover or is there something wrong?

Thanks @BreBo for those links. The USB fix, although somewhat daunting and ton of information to sort through, worked perfectly. I now have only my in-use ports injected and the USB 3.0 devices are running at full speed. Thanks also to @RehabMan for putting all of that together!

The audio fix didn't work. I have "Intel High Definition Audio" in the system report but nothing in the System Preferences Sound section. Any tips on where to proceed next?

Also, during all of this troubleshooting, plugging/unplugging devices and restarting, I noticed that if my monitor is unplugged, turned off or goes to sleep, it will not come back on without a full restart. I know this was a previously mentioned issue with the Intel 630 graphics. Is it still unsolved?

For audio all you need is to install these kexts.
https://github.com/vit9696/AppleALC/releases/tag/1.1.4
https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-eapd-codec-commander/downloads/

And, set the layout ID to 66. So HDMI audio will work too. Of course you need to undo the previous attempts to make audio work.

For better compatibility with your monitor, you need to make HDMI audio work and use a convenient system definition like iMac18,1. That is, a system definition with only integrated GPU. Personally, I prefer to use the of-platform-id of the Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, because that's the iGPU of the iMac18,1 and then patch the connector types from DP to HDMI .

Thanks @freesby! The audio fix worked right away. As for the graphics, all I've done so far is change my system definition to iMac 18,1 as you suggested. Already there's an improvement, sort of. It seems now that the output is always active. It just goes to a black screen when the energy saver kicks in, but the monitor stays on. Where do I need to patch the connector types? That's the only part of your instructions I couldn't follow because I wasn't sure how to proceed. I searched a bit and there was some stuff about using a MacPro definition, but I didn't want to try that for fear of wrecking things further.
