Yes, without Lilu and Fixup there is no graphics accelleration at all. Might try pulling them from my second install and see if I can get at least get to the display port that way but it was behaving exactly the same.

The thing that's so frustrating is that the display port worked fine, for a week, and then gave up seemingly at random, at least a couple days after fiddling around trying to get two displays to work. And that worked (with hot swap) for a couple days too then poof... black screen boot one day and seemingly nothing to fix it and no clue why it's happening.

I'm considering this build, and I have a NVIDIA 980ti card. Knowing that lots of people have run into issues using the standard Intel HD 630 chipset, is anybody having issues using NVIDIA with this build??

Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy a graphic card. I just want to have two screen working on the easiest way.
Any advise? I want something with 4Gb but I don't need HI Performance, is there any GPU that work OOB Two screens?

Most current graphics cards will drive multiple screens. I tested my Gene's GTX 960 after I bought it. It drives 4 screens easily.

However, the driving requirement will be your applications for a graphics card, not whether it can drive multiple monitors.

Excellent! That's so good to hear, thank you :-D

Great to hear! Unfortunately, this person hasn't shared any details as to how it was done and appears the first person to indicate sleep works reliably with integrated graphics.

Pleased to say that so far, through a couple reboots and a sleep wake cycle, I currently have dual monitors working on the Gigabyte 1050ti Windforce card that came in the mail today, so long as I use the hdmi port furthest from the display port. The internal graphics will work alongside (1 monitor each) but only via the HDMI port.

My need is editing videos 4k and create clips around 4-5 min. It is running well without a discrete GPU. I have no problems with the performance but I need to have 2 screens working.
I have my main screen 1440p on HDMI and the second is a projector connected to DP, but the projector doesn't work and just because of that I have dual boot with windows when I need to use the projector.
What I want is to have a GPU enough to continue my 4k editing (5min videos max) and dual screen working without the need of connect/disconnect cables or "hot connect" or any other issue...

Any advise? GTX 1050 is able to manage dual screen OOB?

Any of the GTX 1050s listed in the tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide, Graphics Card section, should do the job. I have a GTX 1060 which drives two monitors easily. But, the GTX 1060 has wake-up from sleep problems.

Also look for build descriptions and guides using the GTX 1050 for information/insights.

For me the 1050 worked OOB if OOB is installing the web drivers, checking NvidiaWeb in The Clover System Parameters section and installing the NvidiaGraphicsFixup kext into library/extensions. Had to do a little troubleshooting when the HDMI port I was using wasn't working but remembered reading somewhere that another user had a similar issue and solved it by switching to a different HDMI port. I also changed my BIOS setting to boot from PCI video instead of internal.

I'm going to keep an eye on Craig's list for an older 970 or 980 now that I know the Nvidia will work well to see if I can get both my 4k displays up on a display port. The 1050 windforce is full of HDMI ports but only one DP, a detail I missed when i ordered it. I don't want to have to deal with the poor refresh rate over HDMI, even for my secondary screen and believe it or not, the color out of the displays is different between the two. I get warmer colors over HDMI and a cooler (and what appears to me to be more accurate) color output over DP.

Hi eurekaiv, You are right. I used the term OOB in the wrong way... My Wifi worked OOB, it means I did nothing to get it working, and I know that wouldnt be possible with a GPU. :)
So, I don't expect to have a GPU working OOB, I can do some workaround and patches to get it done, but I really want to have a GPU that after the installation it works well and constantly. 02 screens without the necessity of manage cable everytime I restart the PC.
Ill probably go ahead with GTX 1050ti
