Running Sierra 10.12.6, my installation was perfect until I foolishly upgraded my BIOS and Clover. I was attempting to get Clover to run at higher res so it would look nice.

My board is Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5
BIOS v.F23a
Clover 4152 Installed

Bios Settings:
  • In BIOS Features:
    • Fast Boot: Disabled
    • Windows 8/10 Features: Windows 8/10
    • CSM: Disabled
    • LAN PXE Boot Option ROM: Disabled
    • Storage Boot Option Control: UEFI Only
    • Network Stack: Disabled
  • In Peripherals:
    • Initial Display Output: PCIe 1 Slot (if graphics card installed) or IGFX (otherwise)
    • XHCI Hand-off: Enabled
  • In Chipset:
    • VT-d: Disabled
I've mostly been messing around with the Windows 8/10 features. This combination is giving me the most usable screen when I get into Sierra, but it's still horrible.

Under System Info, it's showing NVIDIA GPU w/3MB of ram, No Kext Loaded, 1024x768

In Clover Configurator:
- nvda_drv=1 is not checked
- nv_disable=1 is not checked
Under Graphics
- Patch VBios is checked
- Inject Intel is checked
Under System:
- Inject Kexts - YES
- Inject System ID - checked
- NvidiaWeb - checked

PLS help! Thanks

nvda_drv=1 is obsolete. Maybe you need to update clover configurator as well. Try reinstalling the web drivers.

I've re-installed the Web Drivers and made sure Clover & clover configurator are both up to date.

When Sierra loads the CUDA Preferences window pops up:

CUDA Driver: 8.0.90 - No GPU Detected
GPU Driver Version: No version found

Hey there I updated to 23a as well on my UD5 and was never able to get my 1080 working. I also ran into serious issues with nvme. I downgraded to 20 and updated to clover version: 4128. Everything works now minus nvme on this board (I gave up and went with 'slow' Samsung Evo.)

I wanted to update to 23a for the skylake thread fix but no such luck.

Ok, so this is a weird update, i'm still confused though.

- Downgraded to F20 BIOS
- Still running Clover 4152
- In BIOS Switched to Windows 8/10 OS and CSM Disabled
- In Clover Configurator, removed CsmVideoDxe under Install Drivers section

Results:
- I now have a 4k Clover and 4k Sierra, but it's still brutally slow
- System Report now shows NVIDIA GPU with 33MB ram (previously 3mb), 4k resolution, but still "No Kext Loaded"

Not sure what to try next, any thoughts?

attached!

If you are using Nvidia graphics why are you injecting Intel ?
And with an Intel ig-platform-id too ?

I can't explain why those entries are there other than that they have always been there - I will remove and re-try.

Ok, I removed those entries but still a no go.

I've tried switching BIOS to Win 8/10 with CSM Enabled, and back to Other OS as well. Nvidia kext still not loading, but Sierra runs at 1600x1200 rather than 4k.
