How to extend the iMac Pro to X99 [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

The funny thing is that I use 0x040674 and all KernelToKext patches and everything works...

What if you disable all xcpm patches and just use CPU Type 0x0a02 and FakeCPUID 0x040674???

And than the other way round, what about enabling all xcpm patches except xcpm_program_msrs and xcpm_core_scope_msrs but leaving CPU Type and FakeCPUID empty?

In fact to provide everything is somehow some overkill! In principle it is sufficient to use either CPU Type and FakeCPUID or the xcpm patches.

In my case however also the overkill works

If I disable all the xcpm patches but still use the 0x040674 I have instant ++++++++ nothing else :(
will try now the other way around as you said :)
be back in few minutes

But with the FakeCPUID you also use in the CPU section TYPE 0x0a02, right?

sure!
after deleting both cpuid and type but using patches all except the two mentioned above I am back at +++++++ and nothing else.

Wait, I just tried to boot with EFI-10.13-TM on my rig and it does not work either! There must be some error on my side.

However, the attached EFi-folder I have on my usb-drive works!

Thanks
What was it ?

I identified the problem! :headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:

Now please delete the Archive.zip I sent you before and do not use it or distribute it further! The config.plist contains my MLB, Board Serial Number, Serial Number and SmUUID!

Download the attached EFI-10.13-TM-030817.zip and tell me if you can boot the PB3/DP4 installer! ;)

Another Update at 1:14 am CEST: the matchOS for "5960X 10.12" and "10.13 Installer/Updater essential" must be "10.13, 10.12" !!! With "10.12" only the PB3/DP4 installer boots but subsequently the 10.13 DP4 System Disk boot fails!

With "5960X 10.12" and "10.13 Installer/Updater essential" assigned to "10.13, 10.12" both PB3/DP4 installer and 10.13 DP4 System Disk boot fine!

Attached EFI-10.13-TM-030817 reloaded at 1:14 am CEST!

Another update: xcpm_cpuid_set_info corrected

Attached EFI-10.13-TM-030817a reloaded at 2:28 am CEST!

@dnetcrawler , @ICEVISION , @Pears , @Obecny, @duckgrossberg, @GDS, and all other friends of the ++++++ problem.

I identified the problem! It was a very stupid minor error in my side, nearly impossible to detect and find.

Imagine! The problem consisted in two wrong MatchOS entries in the "Kext and Kernel Patches section", namely:

1.) The "5960X 10.12" KextsToPatch entry was assigned to matchOS "10.13", but must be assigned to matchOS "10.13, 10.12"

2.) The "10.13 Installer/Updater essential" KernelToPatch entry also was assigned to matchOS "10.13", but must be
assigned to matchOS "10.13, 10.12"
After fixing both entries the PB3/DP4 installer now boots without problems!

Please download the attached EFI-10.13-TM-030817.zip and give it a try!

I want to hear: Success!!!! :headbang:

Cheers,

Important Update

The last days, many people got mad with an apparent ++++++ DP3/DP4 installer booting problem.
I have to regret that there have been two tiny errors in the config.plist if the former EFI-10.13-TM folder nearly impossible to detect. These errors must have been introduced by myself subsequently to my PB3/DP4 installation during a polishing of the shape and style of ma config.plist.

The errors consisted in two wrong MatchOS entries in the "Kext and Kernel Patches section", namely:

1.) The "5960X 10.12" KextsToPatch entry was assigned to matchOS "10.13", but must be assigned to matchOS "10.13, 10.12"

2.) The "10.13 Installer/Updater essential" KernelToPatch entry also was assigned to matchOS "10.13", but must be
assigned to matchOS "10.13, 10.12"

After fixing both entries, the PB3/DP4 installer now boots without problems! I have to regret for all unpleasant circumstances caused by this stupid inconsistencies.

In consequence, I revised and updated the respective positions of the guide

There is now a new EFI-10.13-TM-030817.zip attached to the originating post of this thread (10.13 macOS High Sierra Desktop Guide).

I really hope to hear now "Success" from all sides! ;)

Cheers and finally enjoy PB3/DP4!
