Thanks for the perfect guide.
Just to reach out: has anyone tried installing on an SSD connected to the SATA interface? My Internal drive does not show up in disk util, however I can boot from it perfectly (contains Win10 atm. that will be wiped with disk util)
Seems all comments are related to NVMe.
Nuc: NUC7i7BNH
Memory: 32G
OS tried: Sierra, and High Sierra.
plist: config_nuc7.plist
I have not installed any specific kext into clover, apart form suggested FakeSMC, GenericUSBXHCI, IntelMausiEthernet and Lilu/IntelGraphics.
Bios is configured to AHCI (not raid)
Have I missed something essential?
I can give you all an update, if anyone else gets the same problem. I managed to use disk utility and install onto another drive. My Windows formatted Intel SSD did not work at all, i.e. did not show up. Changed to another (Samsung) SSD that was pre-formatted with HFS and worked like a charm.
Edit: My nice NUC and OSX got other issues. First the ethernet kext was broken, perhaps during download so I grabbed the one from UniBeast and everything worked fine.
However HDMI is another story, I know that is has been bought up here before but getting consistent HDMI output is really a pain. My main display is a 4k ASUS monitor connected with USB-C->Display Port adapter and everything is working fine, including Audio (that my monitor supports) But I'm relying on my amplifier to support me with sound, as I don't want to use my TV all the time. This works somewhat ok in Windows but has been a pain in the NUCs (Even my previous ones)
However in this case audio over HDMI works when you have rebooted the first time (post install) but after that, not at all. Does not seems to matter how your config.plist looks like. Perhaps 1 of 10 reboots works. DP work all the times, and the internal speakers as well. Even a Windows designed USB sound card worked fine. But not HDMI....
HDMI is detected when I plug in the HDMI cable. Screen preference shows up the control panel (when you "combine" them) but my screen is black. Perhaps this is due to some weird scenario where my amplifier does not handshake correctly with the NUC. But things work in Windows 10 and the BIOS POST works fine on both DP and HDMI.
I know that others have issues with the 7:th generation of NUCs, even in Windows. I'm at 4k resolution on my main screen and 1080p on my TV. Not sure why it's not working. On my previous NUC it worked 9 out of 10 times, here the ratio is the opposite.
