Hi folks!

I wanted to thank @trs96 for this step-by-step guide. Yesterday i bough 8300 Tower i7-3770. For now sticking and testing basic stuff stock iGPU. I never in my life though that hackintosh could be that easy. It blow my mind (of course with this setup). I still need to install VooDoo (?) for onboard sound. For tomorrow or next week i have plan to install RX 460 or GT730 or GTX 750Ti.

I have 1 small (?) problem with WiFi. I use PCIE BCM94360CD. Bluetooth worked OOB without any modifications. Wifi same.
But i have no internet connection. None at all. Even PING to local router doesn't work. WiFi is connected to my network with 75-85% signal strenght both on 2,4GHz and 5GHz.

Any suggestions? I have no LAN connection available in office :)

Good to hear the install went well. These HP desktops are about as close as you can get to the specs of a late 2012 iMac. That's what makes it very easy. See step 9 for how to install VoodooHDA. It's just a matter of installing two kexts with Kextbeast. As far as your internet via wifi, you'll need to call your internet provider first to see if it's a problem on their end. Could be the router settings too. I'll be interested to hear how the RX 460 works in your 8300.

That's not interneto provideds fault from i see. We have here 6 Macs (native) on same network. Hackintosh with it's wifi module with ping outside router displays Request timeout for icmp_seq X.

Now ping to router show up to 1500ms delays. That's strange :)

If there was a pkg installer file that did everything we need successfully I'd have that in the guide. Unfortunately their isn't one that does everything to make audio, HDMI + Analog work correctly.
Yeah that would be nice but the guide is great and only a little more work than a one click installer.
Thanks for all your effort here - its good to see a complete solution for these machines - I think Ive learned a lot more from this build than I have in the past struggling with some of the more difficult builds, it gives a good way to see the structure of a hackintosh build which we can then build on.
Thanks again

Have you run the wireless diagnostics app yet ?
It's located in: /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications
You can use Showallfiles app to unhide the System folder. It's in the downloads section of this site.

Post further questions in Post Installation → Network to get help with the issue.

ALC221 HD Audio Solved. I'm pretty certain I've now got a workable solution for analog and digital audio. What is required is that you install the VoodooHDA 2.9.0 kext and the AppleHDAdisabler kext to /L/E. That seems to do the trick.

Remove any previous Voodoo installs first before doing this, empty trash and reboot then run Kextbeast.

Nothing else is needed. No prefpane etc. I haven't had any issues with static or clicking noises. Please test this out if you have a chance. Thanks. Hope this works if you've not had previous success with analog audio on your HP.

Both kexts are attached at the end of Post #1.

OMG...Analog sound works perfect! I can't thank you enough!!!!

I also installed my newly arrived Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050ti so I am super happy! :)

trs96,

Firstly, thank you for the excellent guide! I have an Elite 8300 CMT with an i7-3770 and HD4000 video and its running Sierra very well now.

I followed your instructions on post 167 and installed VoodooHDA v2.8.8 from Sourceforge in /S/L/E and analog audio is working via the rear green port. I did have a clicking noise coming from the internal speaker but fixed that but going into the Voodoo HDA Preference pane, selecting #1 Speaker Analog and setting Input Gain to the far left. It still does it after rebooting, so I need to fix that.

To make the bootup screen look nice, I tried setting Video Option Rom to UEFI in the BIOS, but on booting, I never got the login screen. My 8300 does finish booting up, as I am able to login to it via Screen Sharing, but I had to go back to Legacy to get to the login screen. Again, this is using the onboard HD4000 via a DP->HDMI adapter.

Next I'll be working on loading Windows 10 on a separate SSD so I can play games that are Windows only.

I'd like to install an Nvidia video card so I can play some newer games (GTA V, etc) but I'm on a budget of $75-$100. Is the GT 1030 linked in Post #1 still the best option for that price range?

Thanks again!

Hm...
One:
From what I see my Geekbench scrore is kinda low. 10000 while others land near 12 000. Any ideas?

If you use the 2.8.8 kext attached to post #1 it has been edited to permanently lower input gain. Replace your current one using the Kextbeast app and the problem will go away.

I bought a GTX 1050 2GB by Gigabyte on Amazon for under $100. There was a 20 dollar rebate. If you can get one of those at that price it's the best gaming bang for your buck.
