X299 Hardware

Ok so I got the hardware and after exchanging a faulty mobo the system is finally build. First run, can't seem to boot the installer. OsxAptioFix2Drv or the low mem version seems to hang after +++++++. I'll try some more stuff.

Edit:
Ok so I can get high sierra to boot, but not sierra so far. After loading high sierra I get the abort sign (no kernel panic this should be either the smbios, storage (waiting for pci root) or cpuid. )

How is the i9? Did you get OS X running on it?
No I got different kernel panics on sierra. I have to begin from scratch with a empty clover config plist and haven't found the time yet. It has been a while since I installed a hackintosh (2010-2011-ish). The quick configs I had didn't work.

Think I read a couple
Others have done did it already

I'm aboard with a Asus x299 Prime-A and a 7820x. Looks like the next Imacs will use Xeon gold-silver chips and not x299. I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time before some hero gets x299 working aswell.

Got it going :)
I used my existing X99 EFI, had to disable a few patches and remove some kexts. Change SMBIOS to 14,2.
It's early days yet for me and I need to refine it and get it going on 10.13 on account of my GPU.
But, it works! And it's not so hard. 1/2 day for me and probably an hour or two for a normal person.

Great job! I saw your posts on insa and I've got a few questions:

- Is speedstep working?
- Any system instability? (like KP/reboot after a few hours of use)
- What's not working and bothering you atm?

Thanks! :)

As we speak I'm just about to try Brumbaer's PMDrvr kext. I'm stuck at 4.5GHz - no speedstep. Well one speedstep haha. MAX.
With that in mind, no HWMonitor. The plugins in fakeSMC gave me kp That's the only real issue because this thing was pulling nearly 400 watts getting the above score (intel power gadget works).

I've been running it all afternoon and no problems so far.
I disabled heaps of patches and flags and removed a lot of kexts. So far I still have all USB ports, networks are good. No sound but I have a USB DAC which is fine.
High Sierra won't work. Just get to the +++++
Which is the biggest issue because I have my new vega turning up tomorrow which is oob in high sierra but won't work in 10.12.

I'm running a Gigabyte Aorus 9.
It's super fast :)
Maybe 5 seconds from clover screen to desktop.
Seems just as stable as my old X99.

Awesome, thank you for all the info! Appreciate the feedback.

For speedstep you may want to try "Xnu CPU Power Management (XCPM) Guide" and "Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) Implementation" from this topic as well: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ill-tridentz-aorus-gtx-1080-ti-xtreme.211621/

Please keep up posted!
