Solving NVIDIA Driver Install & Loading Problems

I have gtx1060 and I installed latest nvdia driver but it doesn't work ! how should I fix it , I also added nvda_drv=1 to arguments and enabled web driver in clover but doesn't work

Also stuck with not being able to get the Nvidia drivers to stick. Verified that InjectIntel is false and NvidiaWeb is true in config.plist on EFI. NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext installed. System type set to MacPro 5,1. Boots reliably but only with OS X drivers which sort of misses the point :)

I notice that when I run System Report and look at PCI, I get the "This computer doesn't contain..." message. Also, when I open the Nvidia prefs, under the ECC tab there are no devices found in any slot. Yes, it's in slot 1 and works correctly under Win10 on the same system.

Ideas?

Hi, Thanks a lot for the guide. I was able to fix the black screen issues. However, I just found out that I cannot boot into the recovery partition now. I am wondering if this issue is caused by the Pascal card I have ( 1070).

You will need to put nv_disable=1 when booting into the recovery partition.

Thank you for the reply, I just tried that and unfortunately it does not work. I have no clue where to start fixing this issue. I tried searching some posts on this forum but no luck. Could you please suggest some other method please?

Same Graphics Card on a Z270 Prime A
Asus board here,

Also getting No Device Found in the ECC tab of the NVIDIA Driver Manager.
Just installed the very latest 378.05.05.25f01 that came out a few hours ago, still the same issue...
Will keep a close eye on replies!

Cheers

Hello!, someone has successfully been able to use a GTX 970m with Sierra?

Has anyone noticed that the pascal graphics card have issues outputting audio through HDMI? I have a well made SSDT for one of my GTX 1060 and it's just so unreliable.. It only works once every 5 reboot or so.. Any ideas? I'll attach couple of things.

With 900 series I do not have this problem.. No one has seen this anomaly??

Hey guys, new to hackintosh but huge Linux guru. That being said I am having issues with problem 6 on a fresh install of 10.12.6 and Nvidia 378.05.05.25f01 for FE 1080 GTX on an ASUS ROG Hero 9 MB.

I have installed clover and added the options specified in problem 6. I also added the optional scripts. I have tried nvda_driver=1 and I have tried removing that option. Nvidiaweb=true is also been added to the config file. No matter what I do after I select nVidia web driver it reverts back to OS X default graphic driver. If this has been mentioned in the forums I do apologize however I have tried everything I can find. Im sure its simple but I seem to be overlooking the solution. Below is a snippet of my clover config. Ive removed the duplicate entry for NvidiaWeb but that has no effect. I've even taking it completely out and still no go. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

<key>SystemParameters</key>
<dict>
<key>#BacklightLevel</key>
<string>0x0501</string>
<key>#CustomUUID</key>
<string>511CE201-1000-4000-9999-010203040506</string>
<key>#NvidiaWeb</key>
<true/>
<key>InjectKexts</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>InjectSystemID</key>
<true/>
<key>NvidiaWeb</key>
<true/>
</dict>

Edit: Changed the SMBIOS around a bit but had no effect. Looks like I am having an issue with NVram as I couldnt recall a string I created when I restarted. And yes, I followed problem 6 to the T and rechecked it twice. Determined to figure this out.
