ASUS Geforce GT 730 2GB - Issues

Status
Not open for further replies.
ok, Done some more googling and testing but still coming up short. Options are:-
1. To get the same nVidia GeForce GT 705 1024MB graphics card, stay on Elcap and enjoy both monitors.
2. To keep working on the GT 730 and see if I can get it going
3. To get another graphics card

Any suggestions on numbers 2 and 3.

The GT 730 is VERY noisey so might send it back anyway

Cheers

Swapped the card for a cheaper evga Geforce 210 1024mb
Had a problem where either port worked (much like the 730) but using them both caused only the DVI to work.
Then installed the Nvidia drivers and the screen went black when I used both (worked fine when I used either the VGA or DVI on their own)
Finally, made the following changes in Clover which cured the problem:-
In Clover
- Under Graphics: added a "VideoPorts" value of "2" (which contained nothing previously)
- Under Graphics: added a "NVCAP" value to "04000000000001000e0000000000000700000000" (again previously there was no value)

Not sure if one or both values are needed but it's done the trick. I now have 2 monitors DVI and VGA (both working) in ElCap and in Sierra

I've bought a GT730 too, to replace a defective AMD Radeon HD5450 that went me crazy, before I understood the card was broken (at first in windows worked well).
Now it's working (after I enabled nvda_drv=1) but with two minor issues, that I'd like to remove.
First, at boot I have some errors (Unknow controller, unknown Kepler chipset, unsupported chipset):
07:47:20, kernel[0] Apple16X50ACPI1: Identified Serial Port on ACPI Device=UAR1
07:47:20, kernel[0] IOGraphics flags 0x43

07:47:20, kernel[0] DSMOS has arrived
07:47:20, loginwindow[105] Login Window Application Started

Secondary, even I installed nvidia web driver (346.03.15f08) and I checked in Clover Configurator to use web driver, and in bootlog I've: "NVDAStartupWeb: Web", at every boot I find that the preference is seated on "OS X Default Graphic Driver"
Can someone help me?

Serial port (SuperIO) should be disabled in your BIOS settings.

Borgo1971 is your Gt730 very noisey too ?
