9. Set BIOS to Optimized Defaults, then set SATA to AHCI mode and HPET to 64-bit

There was a bunch of options for setting SATA to AHCI mode (like eSATA, IDA SATA, etc etc...) ... can't remember the exact names of the SATA options but there was about 8 of them or so.

Should I set all of them to AHCI mode?

I did, along with all the other options, and my hackintosh still no funciona . All newest most compatible hackintosh parts.

I followed all your steps and snow leopard installed successfully in safe mode. Now the next step was to boot again with iBoot, it does read the snow leopard installation and I press enter on it and it gives me that power button icon with the reboot message. It will boot in safe mode if I type PCIRootUID=1 -x but am I supposed to do that?

Hello everyone.

I have a huge problem. I did all the guides here for installing a Retail DVD Snow Leopard with iBoot (normal or legacy). But i'm stuck for 7hours trying to pass the "Preparing installations..."
I'm using a USB Key.
I don't know how to do...

My Specs:
Asus P5Q.
Intel Q9300.
2gb RAM.
Nvidia GTX 470 1Go GDD3.

Zotac H55-ITX A-E with Ralink
4gb DD3
WD 1tb
no graphic card, I m use in-built with the motherboard.

My question is what will be the ideal selection while using MultiBeast (lastest version)

The problem I m getting into, is after installing SL 10.6 then upgrade with 10.6.8 then run MultiBeast selecting: EasyBeast Intall, System Utilites, ALC8xxHDA >> AppleHDA Rollback >> ALC888
ATI 1.6.34.13
FaskSMC
IOUSBFamily Rollback
Hnak's AppleIntelE1000e
Chameleon 2.0
imac 11.2

After selecting all this and intalling it. It was success full, but Once I restarted It stuck at the Apple icon and loading sign... for really long time and nothing happends.. any IDEAS???

Best way to find out what is hanging it up is to boot with iBoot, highlight your Mac drive, type this: -v and then press enter to boot to your HD. When it hangs, look over what's on the screen to see possible problems.

Ok, so I have a Dell e520 and was able to get a SL installed on a brand new drive. Afterwards, I couldn't get it to boot with iBoot or without. I used different command codes at the iBoot screen and still couldn't get back in. All I get is a gray Apple screen crossed out.

I started over, erased the hard drive and attempted to start from scratch. Now, I can't even get SL to install again. Any ideas?

I posted in another forum but haven't gotten much help.

working on Asus P8Z68 Deluxe, Intel i7 2600k, Radeon 4770..
Folowing instructions I instaled Snow Leopard 10.6 and upgrade it succesfully to 10.6.8 but through all the time when I boot I nedd to use PCIRootUIC=1 otherwise nothing happend - screen freezing.
After use Multibeast 3.8 I can still only boot from cd.
When try to boot from the disk even use PCIRootUIC=1 commend have screen full of error mesages...
I can only use low resolution on my 24 inches screen
Maybe I shoud change the grafoc card? Which are the best for hacintosh?

Hey guys..Im having trouble to boot once I replaced my iboot cd to retail mac dvd. It just show apple logo screen and freeze. No more loading or whatsoever. I already followed every steps carefully and tried every combination of -x PCIRootUID=1, but no success. Abit of my system :

- Gigabyte HA65M-UD3H-B3
- Kingston HyperX 1600 4gb
- Nvidia 9600gt 512Mb Graphic card
- Intel i3 2100
- 2Tb WD Green Hardisk (Partitioned to 1Tb+1Tb)
- Liteon Dvd Writer 24x
- Retail Mac Leopard 10.6.3 Dvd

Any help about this would be great. Thanks

I am new to this, but in my bios settings i can not find the HPET mode to change, as part of the mac os x installation.

My motherboard is Asus p8z68-V but in my bios i can not fins HPET.
