Good day Folks I am struggling with an printer - scanner issue for some years I have enjoyed a reliable PC Gyg GA-Z77-DS3H mother board 16Gb mem. i7 processor. After updating the Maverick software my printer - scanner was no longer in the system, tried all the solutions I could find including Canon support - rebuilt the operating system and up to the point of installing Apple updates the printer - scanner was back. I have an alternative Linux system which gets along great with the Pixma.
I have used the latest drivers supplied by Canon. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the device connected by USB ?

Yes it is USB connected I do not use any wireless features Thanks
My Z77-DS3H build gets 'confused' about USB sometimes, this is how I fix it :

Unplug the power lead.
Press and hold in the On button for 30 seconds.
Release the button and reconnect the power lead.
Power on and test.
