macOS Sierra runs poorly after clean install

Hey guys!

I recently redid my old gaming rig to incorporate Windows and macOS in the boot loader to be able to play and work with the same machine.

My steps were as follows (everything was installed on fresh SSDs):
- Disconnect all drives, except the macOS drive
- Install macOS and make sure everything works (it does, although not as fast as I expected)
- Disconnect macOS drive, install Windows
- Plug in everything and configure clover so I can boot into both OS (works flawlessly)
- Make sure everything works
- Fix all the small errors in macOS (install VoodooHDAudio to enable sound card, make sure iMessage etc works)

Now everything works, except that the performance under macOS is really, really poor. I just realized it while using it a bit more over the last few days...
Today I tried listening to music while opening a web browser window and the music started lagging. I had a CustoMac on the same system before (I think I had El Capitan installed) and everything worked buttery smooth. Now it doesn't anymore.

I am kind of lost and would really appreciate your help!

Maybe it has something to do with the hardware:

- GPU is fast enough?
- SSD or HDD (5400 or 7200?)
- Ram? Edit: Ram is perfect

Have you consider upgrading this things? What i5 you exactly have?

Also:

-Do a geekbench
-Do a cinebench

I have two Sandisk SSDs for the OSes (120GB SanDisk Plus 2.5" (6.4cm) SATA 6Gb/s TLC Toggle (SDSSDA-120G-G26)). 16 GB RAM. My Graphics card (Sapphire ATI HD 7850 Grafikkarte 1GB) wasn't a problem with the previous install (El Capitan, if I remember correctly) and isn't an issue under windows.

It seems like the CPU is the problem in macOS Sierra. Maybe some settings are wrong for my CPU?

Looks like it must be the CPU. I have been searching, googling, and found nothing about success Sierra's i5-750.. I think it must be the processor.

I would try a clean install, in your ssd or in another hdd. If nothing gets better I should consider downgrading to El Capitan or upgrading the CPU...

If I were to upgrade the CPU, would I have to re-do all the iMessage setup? Or can I keep all the IDs even with a new CPU? What Did you search for? Did you encounter any success with an i7 for example? I am considering upgrading the CPU, but keeping my mainboard.

He upgraded from El Capitan, in which you didn't have any problem, maybe that's the fix.

I think that you wouldn't need to do a clean install with a new CPU, just like in Windows, I don't know. However, doing the iMessage fix is just 3 minutes, nothing to take care about..
