I've successfully installed Sierra with 99,9% of stuff working (BT off after sleep sometimes). Hotpatch is a gem, thanks a mil!
I have a few questions left. I have ExpressCard slot which is occupied with card which gives me 2 USB ports.
When I turn on ExpressCard in UEFI on boot to OS my keyboard and mouse stops working. Can something in hot patch cause it?
I also have Activity Monitor crash on opening app. And that's on fresh system. Any ideas?
Great job.
Bluetooth: do you use Google Chrome,it does interfere with USB so it causes that to me aswell.
Hotpatch: i made a single SSDT-L440.aml (which i did remove a lot of bloat unnecessary code from the method currently up on guide, which leads to even less work required, and this one is more Generic, might work with all cpu models without the need to patch differently with by just adding the PluginType1 (Haswell+) without the need to generate a SSDT for Power Management and its more Native.
Will upload config.plist and SSDT-L440.aml for you so you can check it but before proceeding make sure:
- you use the AppleBacklightInjector kext for brightness
- make sure you change the layout ID that you are using for audio,if its mine from guide (already patched just ignore this)
- If ExpressCard still doesn`t work, enable the _RMV patch on config.plist (did the change on the config.plist for you)
- Install that kext and enjoy your SD Card Reader (one small issue,if laptop sleeps it doesn`t work anymore "workaround-reboot") but its still under beta so when it gets updated, ill add it on the guide.
-Activity Monitor Crashes once you press the Energy tab,its a known issue, might be fixed by future Update of ACPi Battery Manager if im not mistaken from what i quick looked on some other user reports.Whenever you try to open it,will always crash after.
I will upload the files for you here since i don`t have time to update the guide yet to v3.0,will update it on weekend and after that on 4.0 i plan to Add the Files on Github so it will be easier for people to report issues/fixes/suggestions/improvements and easier to maintain and also much easier for new people here since everything will be installed via just a few commands on terminal like Rehabman way for his ProBook/NUC Repo (if i manage to pull this project together since im beginner at Xcode).
Try the new method, Report back with results.
Enjoy your L440 Refined
(config.plist is ready, just modify the things like SN,UUID,etc from your own since its blank on that section, your favorite theme and your own stuff, patch wise its all ready).
