Actually, the Skylake-X processors are Xeons.
FYI the iMac will be able to run an external RX 580 via USB C. I currently have given up trying to install 10.12.5 with my 7700k with rx 580. Hopefully this new OS X will be super easy and native for the 500 series, and full acceleration :)
what are your thoughts oh great wise stork ;)

The RX 580 eGPU connect with Thunderbold 3! not USB-C. the eGPU case has USB-C hub, that is different thing.

Btw The Thunderbold 3 and USB-C are using same connecter plug, don't get confuse.

I am using 7700k + rx580 with 10.12.5 with no problem now, except sleep and wake

For those of us that currently have a Kaby lake CPU and spoof the Skylake CPUID, I wonder how the upgrade process will go? If we just remove the fakeCPUID from clover before the upgrade will it just work? I really don't want to completely reinstall...

MacOS 10.12.x will have support for KabyLake CPUs -- seeing as how the new iMacs have KabyLake CPUs, and will ship with 10.12.x Sierra, whatever the next revision will be that supports the new hardware, probably 10.12.6 or 10.12.7.

Hypothetically, you ought to be able to upgrade to that revision and remove the spoofing for the CPU, and it ought to work 'just fine' (yeah, haha, I know - nothing is ever that easy).

There's a beta for 10.13 that's also available - maybe someone with a KabyLake should try this on an external bootable drive?

It'll be interesting to see some Metal 2 benchmarks. I'd like to know more about it in general.
For example, how does it compare to DirectX 12, and which AAA game developers will adopt it.

It will be cool with someone like me that has hackintosh on dual gpu nvidia optimus. With only the intel one on a laptop apps like photoshop and final cut are raelly slow. May metal 2 will improve that??

I hope it will be hackintoshable soon , i failed installing sierra so i want to retry with that OS.

Yes. I wonder if it will suport native NVME 950 Pro...
Wow.. i Will wait for that .. I Hope they Will support all' nvme nativelyyy
