Hey thank you, I tried to do this but I am not that good in this stuff...
I can't understand properly what you mean in your third point...
I just booted to a black screen after editing the config.plist I could not find a "nv_disable=1". also point 4 didn't work for me...
I think I am going to do a fresh install with clover now
to get everything in order
config.plist is the main clover config and typically lives in the EFI partition (e.g. the typically invisible partition of your boot disk). You usually need something like Clover Configurator to mount the EFI partition and edit config.plist. You need to make sure you're editing the config.plist of the Clover you're actually booting on. It is easy to misunderstand and edit the wrong file. Most recent Hackintoshes should be set up in EFI mode.
To edit config.plist you can use Clover Configurator, which presents all the information in tabbed form, or you can use a plist editor (it's just XML). While you can use a text editor such as TextWrangler to edit it, it's not safe to do this while inserting data as there is a hex/binary conversion that occurs. That is, the value in TextWrangler will not look the same as the value in Clover Configurator. So, use Clover Configurator.
Always keep backups of changes you make. At boot to Clover, you can specify the config.plist you use. So when you make a change, create a copy (standard Finder duplicate command) and use names to help you keep track of what you're doing.
You can overwrite config.plist settings at Clover boot by hitting space bar I think. Some of the common overrides are checkboxes. So, to set nv_disable=1, boot to Clover, hit space to go into overrides, navigate to and check nv_disable=1, and continue booting macOS.
The config.plist settings mentioned above are:
- inject intel: this is the "Inject Intel" checkbox on the Graphics tab; it should be unchecked
- ig-platform-id: this is a text box on the Graphics tab; it should be empty
- NvidiaWeb: this is a checkbox on the System Parameters tab; it should be checked
- nv_disable=1: this is a checkbox on the Boot tab; it should be unchecked, but, it needs to be enabled after you upgrade macOS but before you install the latest web drivers. The typical flow is, upgrade macOS, reboot, set nv_disable=1 in Clover as a temporary override, boot macOS, install web drivers, reboot (no nv_disable=1).
I'll try to help with any other questions you have.
