I borrow my dad's iMac a lot, which scores at 55sec on the BruceX Test. I just want a system that performs better.
So what I need to know is if you (the experts) see any issues with this setup outside of the typical clover boot. Based on my research the 280x is currently the best performing card for FCPX, especially if in CrossFire.
I have access to two 160gb 7200 RPM hard drives. Would you recommend I keep Win10 on my 1tb SSD and install OSX on the 160gb to test it out first?
If it works out, can I buy another 850 EVO and perform a data migration to transfer OSX from the 160gb to the New EVO or does Samsung data migration struggle with OSX?
Is it recommendable I enable NTFS read/write on OSX drive to utilize the 3TB Seagate Drive (file sharing between Win10 and OSX)?
My machine (Running Win10):
MSI X99A SLI KRAIT EDITION ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card
(Just purchased a XFX R9 280x Double Dissipation Black OC for $50)
64GB RAM
1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD for OS and storage
Seagate Constellation ES ST33000650NS 3TB 7200 RPM for storage
CPU Cooler - Swiftech H320 X2 Prestige
Thank you for all your insight <3
