[Guide] Dell XPS 13 9333 using Clover

Here's my DisplayProductID plist.
There's just one thing that all the icon background color including the desktop background turn red(or pink maybe?) as long as I enable HiDPI mode on whatever resolution. Hopefully it'll fix that.
Besides I had used the 'Enable HiDPI' option in Quartz Debug before, though it didn't work on Sierra. Could it be the reason that caused the red background?

Create a plist with only 1600x900 and 3200x1800. Then test.

Thanks a lot.
This fixed the red background problem but still I couldn't get the 1600x900 working. It's quite weird that all of the resolutions with HiDPI did not change in RDM. I deleted all of the resolutions leaving the 1600x900 and 3200x1800. Maybe it's because my native screen resolution is 1920x1080? I'm currently on macOS 10.12.5. Anyway it's much better than a smaller text.

Hold Option when you select Scaled.

Also,

In case anyone is still reading this old thread.. I updated my rock stable 10.11.6 to 10.12.4 (via the app store update) last night. Everything works fine after following the recommendations in the first post of the readme that RehabMan posted above. I pushed the necessary changes for 10.12.4 to github.

High level update steps:
  1. Implement applebacklightinjector and remove intelbacklight. Note: you need to re-patch your dsdt to do so (since the old dsdt patches include a PNLF patch). After pulling the updated makefile from github, 'make clean; make patch install'
  2. Upgrade kexts (namely VoodooPS2Controller & FakePCIID*)
  3. Upgrade clover (from 32xx in my case to latest). Note: somehow the clover upgrade deleted the HFSPlus.efi driver from my EFI partition.. It was a simple fix but check the contents of Drivers64UEFI/ before rebooting if you're updating from an ancient clover version to save you the trouble.
  4. Pull changes from RehabMan u430/config sample repos (those are pushed to my repo now)
  5. Upgrade
I've only run sierra for a day but it looks just as stable as 10.11.6 was. Sleep/sound/wifi/bluetooth/mini DP out/everything I've tested works fine.
Dear vbo, What is your repo ? I could not find the necessary changes for 10.12.4 you pushed to github. Could you please highlight the necessary changes to install 10.12.6 (released today) as you did with el capitan on the 1st page of this post ? Your analytical instructions were life-saving. I find it difficult to follow sierra instructions as my SSD failed and I ordered a new one, so updating is not an option. I need to do a 10.12.6 clean install on my new ssd. If you could please be a little bit more analytical, using steps, I would be grateful. Your work is amazing. A huge thanks for all your help.

Repo is at: https://github.com/vbourachot/Dell-XPS13-9333-DSDT-Patch You clone it to your local machine in step 5.3.
I think if you follow the first post as is, it should work fine. Only change would be in step 5.4 where you don't need to download intelbacklight kext anymore. Instead, use RehabMan's applebacklightinjector kext, a copy of which you can get in my repo in the kexts/ folder. All the other updates for sierra are included, so it should work just fine.
Note that I haven't updated to 10.12.6 yet.. the update hasn't popped up on my app store. But 10.12.5 works fine.

Also installed 10.12.6 from scratch on XPS 9333 with not much needed to do, however, I would like to get the trackpad working with the best trackpad kext for this laptop. I am currently using ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext but there is no configurable options to make the trackpad behave like I want it to.

Any suggestions?

I'm using RehabMan's voodoops2 with 3 fingers swipe up/down/left/right set to OSX defaults via dsdt. No complaints.
