Hello,

So I've managed to successfully build my Hackintosh running Sierra (10.12.4) with the following hardware:

i7-5820K
Sabertooth X99 motherboard
GTX 980 Ti

At this point, only two things are left to get working: iMessage (works, just not with my Apple ID) and Continuity/Handoff/AirDrop. To do the latter, I need wifi, so I picked up this guy, per the Buyer's Guide: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016K0896K/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

I've checked a number of threads, mostly showing some patches for config.plist and or kexts for PCIID (and PCIID_Broadcom_Wifi) and no combination of these has worked.

I've attached my current config.plist (which includes a few patches from one thread where it supposedly worked) and I used the kexts from here: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Fake-PCI-ID

I'm typically a Linux guy, so I'm used to "lspci", but I'm not able to find a way to at least confirm the card is connected properly. It lights up, but PCI says "There was an error while gathering PCI device information" under System Report, and can't get any decent info from "ioreg" either.

I'm hoping there's something obvious I'm just missing here. :|

EDIT: So I see the wireless card via DPCI Manager, so it's connected (see image). Doesn't show up anywhere else though.
EDIT#2: It works, out of the box, if I boot to the installer. Odd. So it works... is it possible there's something I did to configure my graphics or audio that is causing it not to work now (installer is for 10.12.1, I'm on 10.12.4, if that matters).
EDIT #3: I'm a dunce. I dropped the PCIID and PCIID_Broadcom_Wifi kexts into my EFI partition's kexts folder, instead of installing them. Installed them into /S/L/E and Bob's your uncle, it works!

I presume you are talking about RehabMan's FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext and FakePCIID.kext? I just did the same, using Kext Utility. I confirmed they are there and rebooted. Nothing. The little blue light is on but that's it. Any other ideas on why it won't work?

If this is Sierra, you also need the-darkvoid's fcvo patch.

Thanks for the very quick reply. Yes, I'm running 10.12.5. I've searched here and via Google and I can't find the patch. Could you give me a link. (and instructions?)

Thanks RehabMan! So. I'm a real idiot! I've read the thread but I think I'm still lost. Am I supposed to replace a piece of text in a file called AirPortBrcm4360? Or is this in the config.plist? I've never edited that and I really don't want to screw my perfectly working system. Advice please?

It is KextsToPatch content for config.plist.

Thanks so much RehabMan. I figured it out and got it working! Really appreciate the prompt help!!

Thanks so much, this worked when I could get nothing else to work. Did exactly as you said, copied the section for my card into the config and I'm golden. Cheers :)
