Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Yes I have updated clover and I can boot into OS X 10.12.4 perfectly fine with my iGPU. Whenever I switch to or boot with the 390 (with iGPU still as primary) it goes straight to blank screen (monitor doesn't have signal).
I have come to the conclusion that it's a frame buffer issue. I have booted with it now, shows up as AMD 8xxx in SysProf

Booted with Radeon and seems fine now. Will need to figure out how to patch my FB if someone could help me with. Previously I used Baladi with patched FB somewhere on insanelymac.

I have an RX 470 and I have it booting ok and acceleration is working.

My only issue is that once in a while the screen will go white and the cards fan will ramp up and the system will freeze.

Nothing is showing up in the logs which might hint to what is causing this.

Any ideas?

Just want to report since last Clover update ( 4061 ) I no longer Have problems with some programs Like iMovie. I still boot with IGPU. but now after the boot sequence (apple logo) IGPU Seems to deactivate itself and the video card r9 380x is fully operational. in fact, in about this mac / graphic card system only show GPU and no longer shows IGPU and GPU. games are even working now!

Any news on 290X (Hawaii) support? :(

Actually this is what was waiting for, RX 580 news on this super useful post.
RX 580 should be exactly the same as RX 480, so no news here. Also no news on any other AMD GPU.

The fact that RX 580 is a RX 480, and it's not OOB supported in macOS still news for me :D
Lets hope the next 2018 Mac Pros will change that and make it OOB. Or even better, the next AMD GPUs to be OOB.
For now, still rocking with R9 280X which I got after reading your guide

(I think) it's more than impossible for Apple to look back and support previous generation cards which was not already supported back then

The boot to black screen issue in Sierra is so annoying. I'm stuck on El Capitan until a solution is found, or unless I trade the 290X for a 280X.

I understand, but maybe would be better to wait for the next 2018 Mac Pro's release, maybe new faster cards will be supported OOB from Apple, who knows?
If no time to wait, then yes the R9 280X is the real deal for now.
