Why would you do edit the kext, one of several techniques and the most difficult?

Method 1 corrupted my osx installation. I reinstalled osx and started to try method 2, but I do not understand the following instruction:

• Copy KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/Item 17 (200_Series_ Audio_Controller)
• Paste config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/

I can't get the HDMI audio to work I have made each process (1, 2 & 3), do I have to make them in order?
this is my hardware:
MOBO: GA-B250M-DS3H
CPU: i7 7700K

If you look at the plist file contained within the zip linked at method 2, you will see a series of patches in 'KextsToPatch' section of it. Look for the one with the description of '200_Series_ Audio_Controller' and copy/paste it into your own config.plist file for Clover, in the same section (KextsToPatch).

Sound still not working. In IOService, I have HDEF but no HDAS.

Sound is working through bluetooth headphones! Now I need to get it working through Displayport.
