Just wondering if anyone can tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. I want to make my first hackintosh with these parts:

Mobo:
ASRock Z170A-X1/3.1 Intel Skylake

CPU:
Either a core i5 6400, or a pentium g4560 (to wait for the 8th gen i5, which will very likely use the LGA 1151 socket. It's rumored to have 6 cores.)
I don't know how to use fake cpuid so that's why I'm not sure. If anyone could tell me that would make my decision much easier.

RAM:
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 GB DDR4 Dram 2400 MHz

Wifi:
TP-Link Archer T6E AC1300

I'm a student so I don't have loads of money and I don't need a high end computer. I'll just be doing some light gaming from time to time but I don't need anything fancy. However, I've heard there's problems with sleep if you don't use a dedicated graphics card? I really don't need that type of power in my computer but I need it to be able to sleep so I don't have to restart it every time I use it.

I also need imessage working. I've read some guides but I don't know if my hardware choices would affect how imessage works.

Thanks!

Use a i5 6400, that will work natively and you wont need to worry about any 'fake cpuid'.

It appears that your new to Hackintosh's, so I'' give you some info that might help:

The most important things to pay attention to are:
CPU
GPU
Motherboard
Wifi/BT Card (if you want iMessage, Continuity, and handoff to work)
(i.e. you Hackintosh wont care what case you get, what CPU cooler you get, (almost all RAM will work, stay below 8GB or less or you may need to do additional configurations. EXAMPLE: 8GB X 4 RAM sticks = 32GB total. Thats usually more than enough anyway). The RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 GB DDR4 Dram 2400 MHz will work perfect.
Your Hackintosh want care what HDD or SDD you have.

For your GPU (graphics card) I recommend you go with NVIDIA, all NVIDIA cards will work at this point.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Alright, how do you think my wifi card will work? I've read that it works for most people.

I'm hoping to use integrated graphics. Is there a way to get sleep to work properly without buying a graphics card?

Thanks!

And also, I don't think I want to buy a bluetooth adapter until I find everything else works first.

Also willing to consider buying an i3 6100..... much less money than the i5 and I don't think I need my computer to be too powerful. I just want Sierra to run well.

A i3 6100 Intel CPU will work fine.

Okay, so I've built the computer (with no GPU).

I'm stuck at the Apple boot logo. I've tried -x, -v, GraphicsEnabler=No, and dart=0.

Also, my bios doesn't seem to have a setting for XHCI. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi!
How's everything working now? Did you succeed in building one without a graphics card? will the computer sleep? and did you get the Wifi/BT Card for imessage to work?
I'm building one soon too and have the same concerns as you did.

Thanks

No, I’m using a gt 1030 now. But it works well with the Nvidia drivers and sleep will work as long as you have PluginType enabled AND you are using a GPU.
