[05/02 Added Temporary Fix] Pascal / GTX 1060 Glitching after waking from sleep

So, I had chat with a support agent from NVIDIA. They are going to refer me to 'level 2' support, where I can hopefully voice my complaints to employees who have greater influence at the company. I'll be making sure NVIDIA is aware of this problem, once they get back to me. Hopefully this influences them to release a new driver ASAP!

Thank you, I'll also do that, I alrady submitted a request. Don't dwell on the hackintosh because it has been confirmed on actual mac pros as well

Hot corner didn't work for me. But, the logout/login after wake up from sleep did work.

Thanks for the tip. And MacintoshSE keep us informed on your Level 2 Nvidia support conversation(s).

Adding to the glitch saga, I can confirm that the hotcorner -sometimes- fixes most of the glitching for me but not all of the glitching. eg. the major glitches will go away but HW accelerated OS animations will still be glitched. Make of it what you will.. Nvidia hear our prayers :)

I should also add that I am having random crashes in photoshop with HW enabled, so certainly not stable in that regard.

On my Mac Pro, Hot Corners itself would glitch while the problem was present! xD It would first activate on my primary screen and then, after a few seconds, finally activate on my secondary one. Then, after getting past my lock screen, I noticed that the problem was still there.

For now, I am just leaving my computer awake during the day and then sleeping it at night, with the intention of coming back to it in the morning and re-logging to fix its issues.

I mentioned that other reports were from Hackintosh users, but I specifically let the level 2 support guy know that I am using a stock Mac Pro. So far, we have been e-mailing back and for a little bit, and I have sent him the logs that he had requested. (I triggered the problem and then let my Mac build the logs while otherwise idle.) Not sure if they will show much, but hopefully there's some error in there that they can detect. If not, they can possibly trigger the issue themselves and discover its origins.

He told me that they were setting up a lab machine for tests. I am hoping they'll get somewhere good with this! :) (BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if their own test machines are Hackintoshes.)

Very concerning that you were seeing PS crashing... I'll have to test my own PS and see what's up. Do you have CS6 or CC? Yeah, I'm hoping that NVIDIA will get somewhere with this. I'm glad that, so far, I have at least caught their attention. Hold tight, everyone - I'm working with support right now, and they will hopefully find a clear and present issue and submit a revised driver.

In the meantime, perhaps inquire about the PS crash, if you can gather logs from it.

Good news thus far: Ray, from 'Level 2' support, has notified me that, "...it appears our lab was able to replicate the failure, so bug has been escalated to development team to investigate."

I'm very glad that they have experienced said 'failure' as well (although, I am not sure if with data or with observations). Hopefully their development team finds the source and can update the drivers for us soon! Kudos to NVIDIA for their caring support.

I had asked Ray about whether or not the issue that they replicated was in data form or if it was observational. He told me that they noticed basically what we have been noticing on our systems: slowdowns, graphics corruptions while navigating through the UI, etc.

Very reassuring that they are now aware of this. I'll update you guys as long as support updates me!

Was redirected here from mods after posting about the same problem; just submitted the NVIDIA request. Chiming in with my experiences:

The hot corner fix works for me, however I can't bring back audio. Before updating the driver, I would just select a different output then reselect Digital Out (which is how I currently get my audio). Honestly, I'm just relieved that the issue isn't unique to my system!
