So, I want to rewire the Hot swapple G5 Fan to keep the functionality.
But I rly don't know how to because of my lag of experience...
The fans I used are 2 92mm Noctua Redux Fans.
The Connector from the original Fans has 8 Ports but Only 6 are Connectet as u see on the Picture the left side has only 2 of the 4 ports connected. But there are still 8 cables comming from the fan.
Pls help I have no idea... ^^

btw. The new Noctua Fans Are PVM so they have 4 "Cables" instead of 3 ;-)

If you are looking for a pin-out for the original fans and that connector and socket you can find one here.

The original g5 fans work in a similar way to PWM and are four pin fans, but, they are wired differently.
Good luck

Oh the reason why it is only six pins on that front cpu connector is because the original fans share the fixed 12v and Ground pins. Just in case you are wondering why it is not eight.

Combine The two ground pins from each -> -1 pin
Combine the +12v pins -> -1 pin

8 - 1 - 1 = 6 pins needed.

Combine the two red pins and the two black pins to be one pin.

Yup hypnotic correct. You will need to make a custom cable going to the fans from the original male g5 cpu fan connector, and another custom cable from the original female 6 pin socket going to two standard pwm connectors.

Also check and double check your wiring and test it first, before plugging into a motherboard. I would say if your not confident with electronics, then use pwm fan extensions so you can still remove the g5 bracket easily and don't worry about using the original connector. It'll still look cool.
