Can't decide if I want to wait for the official release of the driver or sell my RX 480 and take my chances with the driver

This only means better deals on GTX 980 Ti cards... I picked up a 6GB card last month for $400 (CAD). Amazing value and I don't think I'd see much difference for my use-case with a newer card. I'll buy a Pascal card when the new thing comes out and the kids start selling their 'old' stuff.

Yeah the 980ti is comparable to a 1070, my only worry is buying secondhand parts that are out of warranty

Yeah, I hear you. Mine still had the protective plastic stuck to the heatsink and all the plugs in the ports... it never saw the inside of case.

Do you have a Pascal card to check at all?

Unfortunately not. The iBooks thing won't be fixed by moving to Pascal, I know that 100%. Maybe the other rendering issues would be.

Got it working!
