Please note I did not have to meddle with nvda_drv=1 since my GTX 760 is supported out of the box in OSX. And with the 14,2 SMBIOS first and second stage boot logos are 100% OK.

First, thank you for your guide, it made the process incredibly simple! I ran into only 2 problems. The first was the cmos needed to be reset frequently bc I was running an old bios version. I only mention it in case someone else runs into the same problem I did, its an easy fix by updating the bios. The second is a vid card issue described below. Other than that your guide made the process extremely easy. Also thank you for attaching those files! It made a big difference.

I have a very similar setup. Same motherboard, 6700k processor, and a GTX770. The only change I made was I switched the SMBIOS to iMac16,2 because it was compatible with Skylake.

Everything works except the video card. It sounds like it repeatedly keeps overheating because after the logon screen comes up, there is a loop of 2 seconds of silence followed by both fans kicking on high for about 3 seconds followed by 2 seconds of silence. The only thing that makes it stop is shutting down. I tried the nvidia web drivers but it won't load them and always shows the OSX defaults were loaded instead. I also set the nvda_drv=1 option, but it didn't make a difference. It won't display anything from the monitor plugged into the video card, it only displays output from the motherboard connected display. Any ideas on what I should try next?

Hi, thanks for the BIOS tip! I'm always running the latest BIOS version so I've never had that.

Video card - I highly recommend iMac14,2 definition as that works perfectly with nVidia graphics cards. After you start that you can always use THIS script to set you chipset definition to Skylake, while preserving the extra compatibility of iMac14,2.

Thank you! You're absolutely right, the video card works now. Still some issues that concern me, its still going through the max speed fan loop (2 sec quiet, 3 sec graphic card fans full blast, 2 sec quiet). I also tried selecting the web graphics driver, but everytime it reboots it defaults back to the osx drivers. I have it set to use the PCI card as the default in the bios, but the verbose mode boot log shows its still trying to use the motherboard chipset:

[IGPU] Will fallback to host-side scheduling if graphics firmware fails to load
[IGPU] Chose to use graphics firmware based on platform
*****************************************************************************
[IGPU] Failed to initialize graphics firmware. Falling back to host-side scheduling
[IGPU] Scheduler interface revision = 1: Default EL Scheduler
*****************************************************************************
[IGPU] Graphics accelerator is using scheduler interface revision 1: Default EL Scheduler
[IGPU] Scheduler: Multiple channel indexes per command streamer
[IGPU] Scheduler: Process CSB using HWS.
[IGPU] Scheduler: PM notify enabled
[IGPU] Graphics Address: PPGTT, Separate Address Space
[IGPU] MultiForceWake Enabled: Using 3D Driver
[IGPU] Scheduler Throttle Cap = 100ms.

Any thoughts? I wouldn't be concerned at this point except the graphic card fans rarely ever went on high on the old computer I used it on.

To fix the Web Drivers to stick, there is an option that needs to be installed in Clover - you need to have EmuVariableUefi-x64 checked. Did you also make sure to have the new Clover items for nVidia? You no longer can use the boot arg nvda_drv=1, you need to use THIS.
