I used Pikes FreqVectorEdit.sh and it must have broken my .plist. I get kernel panic on boot. Is there a way to restore it?

You can run the OS X installer to restore all your kexts (just don't erase the target partition).

Is this the only way?

Is it X86PlatformPlugin that is affected?

I am so clumsy.. why did I do this

It is X86PlatformPlugin.kext. It is a Plugin of IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext.
If you saved a backup of the kext, you can restore it via Terminal in the OS X installer.
Or you can just run the OS X installer... it doesn't take that long.

I used the Installer.

The WiFi chip arrived today. It is now installed with required patches. Handoff and 5GHz enabled. Fantastic. I will write a guide for this. Battery still seems to drain faster than usual.. but still, today is a good day.

I have had issues with USB devices sometimes breaking shutdown and inducing a reboot loop. I did some testing a couple of months ago and had mixed results in reproducing the problem.

I know why I had trouble reproducing it and I know what causes it now. It happens whenever a device is disconnected before unmounting it. When I tested I always unmounted and waited before detaching...

Is there a known fix for this problem? I didn't want to start a new thread since it is the same laptop but I have installed Sierra 12.6 since this thread was started.
