[Guide] El Capitan on the Intel Broadwell NUC

I've just connected a pair of JBL external speakers through the audio port of my NUC i5 and now I have audio popping. Any fixes for this?

Thanks for the great guide.
I've managed to get ethernet and sound working fine just by injecting using Multicast.

But If I follow the rest of the instructions I'm ending up with a computer that kernel panics (looks like it, it reboots quite quickly)

Has the guide been updated since 10.11.6 was released? I'm not sure if I still should replace the .EFI file and use the same SSDTs / plist?

I'm on a i3 NUC so I've used the generic SSDT and just done the basic Clover Config changes (Updated to 14.1 iMAC)

Sorry If I've have not tried hard enough to find a solution but It's hard to scroll trough 81 pages of text :(

EDIT: Looks like i jumped a bit early here - Managed tor record a movie of my NUC booting and discovered that the graphics driver crashed.. So I looked in BIOS and the Video Memory settings was changed from what was suggested. Changed back and rebooted and now everything works fine!! :)

Having my first mackintosh is sweet :) Coming from two MacPro's who costed a fortune :) 4k Video (Running 3440x1440@50HZ) is working and I'm only using the i3 proc and 8G ram.

The only hiccup so far would be the Youtube HTML5 player that never gets "on focus" when you hover, you need to click on the movie making it pause..

Just updated 10.12.3 on my NUC5i5RYH, clover 3766, through app store, not standalone.

No issues, graphics, sound thru HDMI, full HW accel all functioning normally.

Using m.2SSD, no SATA drive (although my hybrid SATA should arrive Tues).

On my NUC5i3RYH, I finally found the source of my wireless mouse lags... It was as simple as using a USB port at the BACK of the NUC for my mouse usb dongle, since there seem to be interference with my Bluetooth keyboard if I use a Front USB port. Give it a try if you have some mouse lag...

I followed this guide but for OS X 10.12.3, and most things work smoothly out of box. I am using it with NUC5i5MYHE with a Intel WiFi adapter (it just comes with the NUC and I have not yet replace it).

While it is expected that WiFi is not working, Bluetooth however works out of box. What's more is that I recall seeing it using AptX codec with a headphone of mine even though it is an intel adapter. (I guess the codec is in driver then?)

I am using it with LG 27UD58 27-inch 4k monitor. With DP1.2 enabled on monitor, it appears that only one of the 2 miniDP ports can output at 60Hz. When I connects the monitor to the other port, it does only 4k@30Hz.

Another issue is that headphone port seems not working. I am not certain if that's a driver issue or hardware issue. Meanwhile, audio via DP works, and USB audio adapter also works for me.

Other than what I mentioned here, I have not observe anything wrong.

Thanks to Sebinouse, Wonkey Donkey and all others.
Finally my NUC D54250WYK working on SIERRA
I Couldn't make HD audio to work , so I bought VANTEC NBA-120U Aluminum USB External Stereo Audio Adapter from newegg.com for $7.99 its working good. Also bought DW1510 BCM4322 BG half-size PCI-E wireless card from newegg.com for $10.99 both 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz working.
I did only follow the installation guide on page 1: UNIBEAST Install macOS Sierra on any supported intel-base PC.
I have to do nothing else. I did not have to use MULTIBEAST.
I am still a novice, if anyone kind enough to give a step by guide for HD Audio to work will appreciate.

Thank you for the awesome guide! Got 10.12.4 on an NUC5i3MYHE, and it's working mostly great. I stupidly ordered an mSATA WiFi/BT card instead of an M.2 card, so that's the last piece I need to get this completed.

Only thing that kinda bugs me is the glitch during boot. It's only for a second or two, but it would be nice to have it working correctly. I've still got quite a bit of this thread to read, so maybe the solution is in here somewhere.

Another issue is that headphone port seems not working. I am not certain if that's a driver issue or hardware issue. Meanwhile, audio via DP works, and USB audio adapter also works for me.

I think it's software. My headphone port was working on El Capitan, and I think on Sierra for a brief time, but some update seems to have knocked it out. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, but no luck. Seems like audio via DP will work, but I haven't bothered testing it out yet.

Hello everyone ,
I own NUC5i3RYH and operating system installed mac osx El Capitan 10.11.6 with M.2 SSD. I would kindly ask for the correct procedure to upgrade to Sierra, you can upgrade directly from the App store? Thanks in advance.

As long as you have the most recent Clover that can boot 10.12.4, yes, just update via the app store.

There were certain versions of Sierra in which the on-board bluetooth worked, and then it stopped working again. That's a crap shoot, maybe it works maybe it doesn't. Everything else works as the original post mentions.
