Okay I found out that I still have another partition with El Capitan, I can repair the USB stick from there.
Is there an easy way to reset the standard config.plist for Sierra?

Did you try to access the Sierra partition from El Capitan. Is there an error code if you try to open system/library/Extensions?

Your USB stick should be unaltered, by changing settings in the bootscreen it should not change the USB configuration. Can you access your sierra disk using disk utility? You could try running repair and retry booting. Or you can r
Erase the Sierra and reload using the USB installer again.

I created a completely new Sierra install stick now. And completely reinstalled Sierra.

I modified the AMD4100X.kext, only changed EF to DF and used kext utility to install it.

I have the onboard GPU as primary GPU and I change the monitor input after booting, but still no AMD driver loaded. It still says 3mb graphics and is laggy as hell. I followed every step, I'm falling into despair here.

By the way I habe a Sapphire nitro which is supported as you say in the first post.

I also repaired the permissions with kextwizard of course.

I noticed that the fans of the graphics card stop spinning after booting. Is this an indicator that the drivers work partially?

Ok after I restarded several times it now seems to work. I get 118 FPS at Cinebench, same value as in Windows.

Go to the " About This Mac" on top tool bar the big apple on the far left. Open it and select "System Report" then select graphics and displays.

Updated to 10_12_3 and had to repatch AMDRadeonX4100.kext to get full acceleration.

I have Sapphire Nitro RX480 OC 8gb and cinebench r15 never gets over 86fps. Open CL is fine though LuxMark is about 14660. Any ideas why could it be that way? seams like everybody else get over 100fps with same GPU.

I been reading tons of threads about using the RX480 and it seems like a lot of trouble and headache. If you guys had the choice between an nvidia 980 and rx480 would you do it again? The only reason I am even considering the RX480 is because I have 2 32" 2k freesync monitors. However I am a newbie when it comes to hackintosh and the trouble needed to debug issues may be beyond my comprehension.

If it's for the short term I'd probably go with the Nvidia GPU but in the long term the RX 480 will probably receive better support and be just as easy to implement (Not to mention AMD's Fine Wine Technology). The implementation as it stands isn't super difficult either, it's just editing a few character here and there, I'd say the most annoying part of the thing was needing to buy a $10 HDMI switch so I don't have to keep switching cables from iGPU to my RX 480.

We are also not having to wait for software updates, Nvidia users have to wait for the Nvidia update before they can update their Apple software. We just update make a few changes and we are back in business.

Which HDMI switch did you buy? And was the main reason you bought this is to see the BIOS screen on boot?
