Hey there
I added a second 4k screen to my Hackintosh. Two identical screens (ASUS PB287Q), one GPU (EVGA GTX950 02G-P4-2951-KR), both screens connected via high quality 4k capable DP cables. Both displays run on DP 1.2.
The problem:
Every now and then (I'd say about every minute or so), one of the screens goes dark for a second or two. In some rare cases I get weird distortion artefacts instead of the blackout and even more rarely I get both (1 second distorted artefacts, two seconds black and then back to normal) So far, I could not figure out why this happens. The two displays run without issues otherwise. I tried to switch cables and tested all three DP connectors on the GPU (one of them seems to not work at all).
Question 1:
Does anyone else had similar problems and know how to fix them?
Question 2:
Would I be fine adding a second, identical GPU to my machine, so each display would then be powered by its dedicated GPU? I am considering this, because I noticed that the graphic performance is not as snappy as it was with only one 4k display.
Many thanks for your help in advance!
