Please Help

What help do you need?

If you re-examine post number one you will find answers to nearly every question that I can think of concerning the G5 front panel cable to PC motherboard.

Good modding,
neil

Hi everyone,

I'm starting a new G5 case mod, to improve on the previous one.
But this time, the case I've got is a revision 2 (Early 2005 or Late 2005), not the original one !

Can anyone confirm/disconfirm that the wiring is still the same for the front panel please ? :roll2:

looking forward on this

Hi!

Thanks for this great guide! But silly me still got a question :(
I am trying to connect the front panel to my Dell Optiplex 990 board.
This board has an IO Connector and a separate power connector; the last one i am fiddling with right now.
It has 5 pins, if I short the black and yellow one power goes on, yeah! BTW shortening blue and red one makes the alert "power cable not connected" go away, the orange one? Well, i dont know :)

Back to my question:
I understood I need to connect the yellow cable to pin 13 (PWR Button +) on the front cable connector and the black one to FW ground (Pin2)? Is this correct?
Cause Power button does not work :(

Thanks for any hint!

Hello !

Sorry for the thread bump, but I installed a BlackCH mod ATX cable today, and I was wondering if there was a solution to have the Power LED switching off at shutdown ?
(the cable has Pwr+, Pwr- on the Firewire grnd with a jumper, and on LED+ pin)
I did a very simple mod of this case, with the power supply untouched and installed inside. The LEd goes off when I shutdown the power supply, but otherwise it stays on.

Can you manually pin out the led and send it directly to the mobo? looks at this thread:
