Thank you Mots.

1. I didn't realize that clover configurator can install EmuVariableUefi-64. I rather use fewer tools for the sake of simplicity.

My Hack still introduced a lot of issues including Nvidia acceleration after enabling nvram through installation of EmuVariableUefi-64. However, I found out that it was because I installed my hack on a usb drive so, when I replug the drive to boot, SIP kicks in and kills a lot of stuffs. I then disabled SIP and all problems were solved. This should not be a problem with others who install their hacks on an internal drive.

2. I did enable ErP. I still don't know why it happens. Is it okay to use FixShutdown? Any downsides?

3. I use iStat. And I am able to monitor the temps now after following Patrick797's guide here:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ure-and-fan-control-sensors-hwsensors.177155/

And like other mistakes I did. This one also needs SIP disabled during kext install.

4. I'm not sure if they were enabled from the MultiBeast because I didn't even know they were existed. Lol. I'll check and report back.

One more thing to note.

I actually built my hack following your hardware after I found a deal on the mainboard. Most of the parts are used. Your guide really helps configuring my hack. Thank you so much!!!

Good stuff ActivityRequired, thanks. I haven't tried installing the OS on a USB drive before. I can see how that would bring some new challenges. It will be interesting to see if I will require FixShutdown when I upgrade to Sierra. I don't think it would have any ill effects as long as everything is shutting down and starting back up cleanly. The Clover docs mention this fix is for Asus motherboards, but if it works for you that is great. Perhaps since you boot off USB, it is helping to fix your issue somehow. I haven't researched to see if I can figure out exactly what it does.

Set EFI Boot = On (default to EFI boot)

I could not find the EFI boot option in BIOS though. Is it the same as setting boot order to EFI partition? Am I missing something?

Plus, the Nvidia acceleration seems to not function sometimes from the boot. A restart cures this. Do you experience something like this?

I can check later to be sure, but I believe the BIOS option is called "Storage Boot Option Control". You can enable UEFI or Legacy for the storage device controller. If you are able to boot Clover and then see your EFI partition to boot to OSX/MacOS, you are fine.

On El Capitan, I don't have any Nvidia issues with this build. I am still on BIOS F5. My son uses it daily to do homework, play games, edit video, watch Youtube etc. The system barely has any downtime and has been like a rock thus far, so that is why I have held off on the Sierra upgrade. I do have the boot entries building up in the BIOS and that is making the BIOS slow when I navigate to that tab. This is the only real issue I have and BIOS F20 will fix this.

On my Econo build, things are going well with Sierra and BIOS F20, but I have dealt with some things in order to get it stable. I have documented things here that pertain to the Sierra and F20 BIOS upgrades: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...h110m-a-gtx950-8gb.199438/page-7#post-1413238
(I'm sure most, if not all, of these will be applicable to this build).

Thanks again mots!

How long does it take from boot, activating the power button, to the login screen on both of your build? Mine takes about 25 sec. You think it could go faster? I'm on a cheap NVME ssd now.

And is your Hackinworth build able to use wake on demand or wake on wireless? Mine can't.

Power nap works?

The power button to login screen boot time sounds about right. The process is even slower on my econo build (~35 secs) due to quality of SSD and CPU. Unfortunately, about half the time is taken to post the BIOS and get to the Clover menu. After that the boot time for the OS is very reasonable. On the F5 BIOS with many boot entries, I think the posting time would take longer, at least it seemed like it. On this build I found that I could do a "Normal" flash of the F5 BIOS (over top of the same F5) and then reset everything to remove the extra boot entries. When I upgrade to F20 and Sierra, this will no longer be necessary.

I don't use the wake on demand options, so I am not sure if they work or not. I don't think Power Nap works on many hacks, especially with Sierra from what I have read. I have always left it off on this build, and I had to turn it off on my Econo build after upgrading to Sierra because it wouldn't wake properly because it would go into hibernation mode. Before Sierra it worked on that build, but it was annoying since my Time Machine backup goes to HDD and it was waking up periodically throughout the night. The noise is not welcome if it is in your bedroom...the wife was always asking about it, haha!

I can't wait to see you make this build for Sierra. I could not get it works with Nvidia driver and audio.

Nvidia driver, I used 10.12.2 (16C68) from https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solving-nvidia-driver-install-loading-problems.161256/ and it didn't work for me.

Here is by build:
- CPU: i5 6500
- MB: GA H170 Gaming
- GPU: GTX 750 Ti

Hi, which BIOS are you on? With F20, you will need the EmuVariableUefi 64-bit driver. It can be installed in Clover Configurator under "Install Drivers". For Sierra, you will also need the newer NvidiaWeb option enabled in your config.plist (option is supported in Clover r3751+). This is under System Parameters in Clover Configurator.

Hi mots,
I plan to build new hackintosh. From both of your build, which is easier to install and less problem to solve? H170 or H110?

1) Skylake H170 "Value" build GA-H170-Gaming 3 | i5 6500 | GTX 970
2) Skylake H110 "Econo" build Other | i3 6100 | GTX 950

I think I also read that you have problem with dual channel RAM in other thread, did you able to solve it yet?

Appreciate your input.
Thank you.

Hi, I would say that both are very similar in that regard, but the H170 "Value" build is on the recommended hardware list (buyers guide) and would likely be the safer bet. I am using dual channel (2x8GB) in that machine without issues.

From my research, the dual channel RAM issues I was having with the "Econo" build are very likely the RAM module I was trying to use. I found others having the same issues and they replaced their RAM with another brand and had better luck. It may not even be the brand, but the module I had in my hand. If you do some searching, you will find the threads I am referring to. That said, I am nowhere near 100% sure that the MB/H110 didn't have something to do with it. It only has two slots and it is a bit finicky when trying to use them both. I do have 16GB in the "Econo" machine now, but it is just using a single 16GB module.

The video cards are of the same complexity on both machines (very simple). You will just need to use the Nvidia driver for the specific version/revision of the OS you are using. It has to be updated every time the OS is updated, but it is very simple to do.
