can someone walk me through this step by step? I have gotten absolutely no where doing all this. Im losing it. All because I updated to Sierra. Should have just stayed with El Capitan. I just don't know what to do anymore.
 
on my kaby lake z270 realtek892 build I can see the audio devices but I can't play any media (iTunes, Quicktime, YouTube) - using my usb sound card it works fine. since I don't want to crosspost, all debug stuff attached at the following post in the kaby lake thread:

maybe the problem (and hopefully the solution) is also of value in the conversation here
