im intending to clone the system and start again with the sierra multibeast, which so far has not worked for me, as far as i remember im running this one from the last el catptian version.... i actually never managed to get this machine running el cap..... i tried several time plus, yet stayed with yosemite..... until i found it just booted happily with a beta of sierra.... i was so so happy..
ill get on to that and let you know.....

Sorry but I'm a bit confused: according to GIGABYTE website your x58 board isn't compatible with a Core i7-3770K (and no x58 board is), and anyway what's your problem right now? Shutdown or installing SIERRA?

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R is a 1366 socket a Core i7 3770K is 1155 however a 3770K isn't supported with a 1366 socket.

There is a DSDT for your motherboard in the DSDT Database find the correct one that matches your BIOS version.

i have that, yet system is booting and running fine using clover without the dsdt installed.... when i do place it in the clover patched folder the system does not boot. i am also planning to clone present system and then experiment further with a fresh install and using the latest multibeast (where did the dsdt option go?) .
thanks

Why are you using a MacPro4,1 system definition ?

this one seem to provide the best stability and speed...
since sierra i have not spent a lot of time tweaking the system apart form attempts to get it to shut down consistently... been editing lots of video which has been going fast and cool...
a threat somewhere suggested 4,1 as a possible fix for shutdown issues...

heading out into world in a while but will be back on this thread asap
